I own a 97 Landcuiser Prado with a diesel 1KZ engine. It suffers a general lack of power, emits a lot of smoke and guzzles a lot of fuel. I thought it was the turbo unit but this was checked and it is ok. My mechanic cannot figure out the problem and recommends I get a used engine. Would anyone know the likely cause of the problem? Would anyone know a source for decent, reasonably priced engine exporter (preferably in Japan)?
