engine, is this a problem? I'm driving a Toyota Fortuner 4x4 with 1500+ miles on it. Today, i seemed to have lost my mind and stepped on the pedal hard just moments after i started the engine. About roughly 40 meters farther, i started seeing thick white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. The smoke was so thick that it looked like someone was burning dried leaves on.
After the smoke had faded, i tried to do a revolution (if that's how it's called when you are on park and you try to step on the pedal to see if smoke was still coming out of the tailpipe) and no smoke was coming out of the tailpipe. When i got home, i tried to do a revolution about three more times, and still there was no smoke. My uncle said it's nothing to worry about, that the emission was just caused by driving too fast immediately after i'd started the engine. Still i want to hear second opinion/s. I'd like to take the car to the Toyota Centre but it's a Sunday.
I really have no other knowledge about cars so i'd really appreciate your answers. Thank you.
