this would cost? Plz help!?!? I took it to the shop and the guy told me that the problems are
1.) P0440 evap control system problem
2.)P0441 evap system purge flow low
3.)P0446 evap vent solonoid problem

I asked him for how much it would cost to fix this, but he told me it would he would have to check it out and that would cost 100 bucks.

Is that right for someone to charge 100 dollars just to check out the actual problem?

Has anyone had to replace these parts?

He told me it's wear and tear and that it's NOT from misuse. He said it's something that has to be fixed when their is a problem.
This is something I can't really afford. I don't even have a job. I live with my parent's house. I'm just a student.

Power wash your engine. Go to an Auto Zone where they check your trouble codes for free. Most of these items can be cleaned out and restored to proper working condition. Learn how to do-it-yourself with a Haynes manual. Don't fret!!! Washing your engine, alone, might fix these guys. These items are vulnerable to poor quality gasoline from discount, off name stations. Read "top tier" fuels in internet. Some fuel has alcohol or methanol in it, and the vapors get destructive with fuel system components. Add some Chevron/Techron FI cleaner to your tank. A little high speed drive might just clean these guys out. Ask where you buy gas where it comes from, and whether it satisfies "top tier" specifications. Stay away from Sunoco and Clark. Good Luck!!!

you can do this yourself. listen you allready have your diagnostic trouble codes. now all you should do is find out on the computer what they mean exactly and either replace the sensors which isnt expensive or fix the problem yourself. little to no additional diagnostic is neccissary seing how you allready have the codes and those are all you need usually
