Okay here is the story. I recently bought toyota echo with the one-way fm remote. Now after letting my land lord move my car. My car wouldnt start, the first time the engine turned over then cut out to kinda just tick tick and from then on it would just go tick tick when trying to start. Anyways we thought to jump it that didnt work. All my lights worked and everything and the alarm was still working.
Fast forward 4 days later battery went totally dead alarm wouldnt work car starter didnt go at all except i can still turn on my head lights.
Decided to read the user guide for the remote system figured out that my landlord probably trigured the starter kill function and thats why it wouldnt start . There is a way to override this but now my car wont jump for some reasone and i cant get power to the alarm system. We tryed by passing the battery and just hooking it up to that metale thing where the battery is connected to but that wouldnt work.
Any ideas? Would taking the battery out and putting a charged one in make a difference?

Your battery is probably just getting old.
If it's 5 years old, it's due for replacement anyway.
Go buy a new battery and stick it in.
Everthing should work just fine after that. Even the alarm system.
