toyota corolla car won't start?

this morning i went to start my car and it took about seven attempts in a five minute period for it to finally start. i would turn the ignition all the way and i wouldn't hear a sound. the seventh try, it finally sputtered to life. when i went to the place i had to go to, i walked out three hours later and tried starting my car. this time it made a click click noise and finally started.

idk if my battery is dead and if so, how long can i go driving my car before it completely breaks down on me?

and can i do a simple jump start and that be the end of my problems? i have no time the rest of the week to take it to the shop for an extensive period and im hoping to fix this tmrw when i have time! thank you!

You can take it to your near by auto part store and get your battery tested for free. If there is no sound when you turn the key, it should not be a mechanical error. I would suspect your starter to be fine along with ur alternator.
