okay i recently got in a small accident in my corolla where i ran into a tree stump and hit the lower left side of my bumper. This caused a large black box to fall out. when trying to find out what the box is for, i found that it is a part of the air intake system.
it goes: Air intake opening at the battery, then the hose goes under the battery to this "black box" then it comes back up on the other side of the battery and into the airfilter/engine. i think this box may have to do with catching water or particles that fall into the air intake hose opening. Now the car runs, but it seems to be sucking air in through the hole where the box used to be. do i need this box, or can i place some ducktape over the hole and make it suck in air through the actual opening?
