Toyota Camry LE 1997 $3,900, a good buy?

if the car has been taken care of well, then 3500 would be a fair price if it is a 4 cylinder engine, with a camry and only 6200 miles change timing belt and water pump and you should be able to get another 1000,000 miles out of it.
 
wow that is a great deal to get on that type of car for that year. Getting a toyota is a really good investment.
 
I am thinking about buying a car from my friend. It's Toyota Camry LE 1997 with 62,000 mile, 2200cc, cruise control, ABS, air bag, and GE Security until 22 November 2009. The condition is excellent (from what I saw and traveled by his car).

My friend is the second owner of this car. He wants to sell it for $3,900 (We live in Chicago). He provides a VIN Number, but I don't have my Carfax account.

If I buy this car, I plan to use it for another 1-2 years.

Do you think $3,900 is a good price for the conditions of the car? I am thinking about asking him $3,500. What do you think?

ya thats a really good price for only 62,000 miles on it but you could always negotiate the price and see if you could get it lower
