at the recent MOT test I was informed that the headlights (dipped & main) were not as bright as they should be, just getting through the test, and they would need replacing very soon. I do admit that the lights are not as effective as they used to be but I rarely drive at night so I hadn`t noticed it before.
My problem is that on a 6 year old car that has done approx. 65,000 miles and rarely used at night, why should it be neccessary to replace the headlights? On all of my previous cars, and I`ve been driving for more than 40 years, I`ve only had to replace the headlights when damaged by stones etc.
As these units are expensive to replace, has anyone else encountered this problem?
