My mom has made me an offer to buy my first car. We live in Colorado, so snow is a factor.
The First Option: 4Runner
2003 V8 RWD 4Runner SR5 with 103k Miles
Has traction control and a low gear option, I have personally got it unstuck out of the snow while my mom has failed.
Interior is fine. Known to run for a long time.
Much more cargo space.
15-18 MPG optimistically.
Second Option: Mariner
2008 Mercury Mariner V6 AWD with 60k miles.
Interior is nice. I have notice there is a lot less ground clearance here.
Consumer reports indicate a common problem with fluids leaking because the sent the transmission fluid through the A/C condenser. I would be happy to buy an aftermarket hose that will be more durable if such a thing is made.
19-22 MPG.
Thanks in advance.
