Toyline Ads Airing During the Toyline's Show

I know this probably doesn't exactly deserve its own thread, but this kind of puzzled me:

ABC is showing the first (live-action) Transformers movie right now, and during one of the commercial breaks, a Transformers toy ad aired.

IIRC, isn't there some law against advertising a toyline during the corresponding show? I've heard about one time where CN accidentally aired a Transformers toy ad during one of the series and they were slapped with a fine, so shouldn't the same happen to ABC because of this?

I know it's a movie and not a show, but they still aired a Transformers toy advertisement during a Transformers program.

This was ABC prime-time correct? They aired a toy commercial...? Maybe it was your local affilate who put that in there, because my ABC affilate doesn't air toy commercials outside of ABC Kids, and even those are rare.

No, it's definitely ABC itself doing this and not the affiliate because I have access to both the Connecticut and Rhode Island stations, and they're both showing the toy ads.

By the way, they just aired another "Transformers PowerCore Combiners" ad as I was typing this post... Either this doesn't go against the law or there's going to be a huge fine when this is done.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that the law only applies toward childrens programming and only for programming that airs during certain hours of the day, I could be wrong but I also believe that if an ad is aired because the company behind the toyline purchased airtime to promote the product during it's television show then that would be against the law.
