Toy Story 3D ??

Yes.

It's mainly also an opportunity for the new generation of young people to catch up for the impending third film by getting the "cinema experience." I'm a bit wary of what 3D will do to the first films since they were not conceived or originally produced as such. So the DVD experience on a big screen may be closer to what the audience had for the first two. Mine have seen both already. Will take them to see UP instead.
 
personally i think 3d is overrated, yes its moved on a lot but when the action is fast it loses the 3d but no one seems to acknowledge it, i hope all these 3d releases die down, there are too many and it doesnt enhance the film
 
I knew this was coming ages ago but was suprised to see it in my local listings today! Could someone let us know what its like. I cant WAIT for TS3 next year which of course will be specifically made for 3d.
 
I saw it earlier and the 3D was very subtle. Subtle to point where I don't think you gain much seeing it in 3D. As it's only in 3D, you don't really a choice to see it in 2D and it was very cool to see Toy Story on the big screen.

This was my first time seeing a film that is projected using the new digital 3D. I didn't get Toy Story 3 trailer but I did an extended scene from A Christmas Carol and the trailer for Up. Both were in 3D.
 
might see tgis again just for the 3d and cause I ain't watched it in ages, I grew up with TS, was 5 when it came out plus I'm gonna see tge 3rd one I don't care if I'm the oldest there lol it's what I grew up with so I deserve to be there lol
 
I went to the 11pm showing last night and i enjoyed it. It doesn't really benefit much from being in 3D, but the depth of field effect does make it more immersive in a way. I prefer 3D films like this as opposed to the film shoving sharp objects towarRAB the viewer a la My Bloody Valentine 3D which just comes off as cheesy imo.
 
Saw this during the week and was disappointed by the 3D tbh as of the '3D' movies I've seen this year it was the least effective (the other 2 being My Bloody Valentine and Final Destination). The only 3D segment that really impressed me was the snow at the end, which they seem to have perfected judging by the Christmas Carol trailer at the start.

It was still well worth the trip to Odeon to see this classic movie on the big screen, especially as I'd forgotten how most of the movie went it's been such a long time since I last saw it!

Bit of a shame us Brits didn't get the double feature with Toy story 1 and 2 back to back like the USA though, as the cinema was 2/3rRAB empty when we went and several of my frienRAB refused to pay
 
Saw it on Wednesday and the screening was absolutely packed with all adults! I haven't seen the first film for a few years, and I'd forgotten quite how good it is. Such a tight script.

A really good experience, actually, seeing it again on the big screen. And the 3D was done really well too, particularly for a film that wasn't designed like that originally.

I suppose people need to understand that there's a difference between the type of 3D films we're talking about here, and more gimmick-based ones like The Final Destination and My Bloody Valentine. For example, the 3D in Coraline is really impressive, but it's more about the depth of field and certain parts of the foreground looking like they're in front of the screen.

Isn't the second one being re-released at cinemas in January?
 
I saw TS-3D this week and really enjoyed it. As far as the 3D is concerned it was fine and I prefer it when the 3D effects are not too overpowering.:)

The best thing about this showing was that of course it was in digital, and the fantastic animation was presented in the best possible way.

I watched wall-e on a standard screen last year and the projection was all grimey and speckled with dirt, then it stopped for about 30 seconRAB due to a projector error. I had to find a digital screening of it and ended up going to Empire Leicester Square,
 
Saw this the other day, I really enjoyed it, but their wasnt much 3Dness, it felt like i was watching a HD film, but better then HD.

Sorry if that makes no sense.
 
Yeah, the depth of field was quite impressive during the scenes when the view panned slowly around the garden and filling station I must admit. However, after watching the trailers for Up and Christmas Carol, I was slightly underwhelmed by the rest of it. Though obviously they did a good job considering they were modifying an old movie designed for 2D.

For most films, I would say no, but...



That's the very reason I went to see it. I watched it at the cinema over a decade ago and it was brilliant to see it again, in a screening that was full of adults who'd clearly come back for the same reason.
