Toy story 3

I really don't get this whole "applauding at the end of a film" thing. I could understand it if you were at the premiere and the film makers were in attendance, but at a regular screening, who exactly are you applauding to? It always seems a bit pointless to me.

I'd say its suitable for a 5 year old. There's only really one scene that might upset a young child (the furnace scene), and it doesn't really last too long.

Ending Spoiler:

The scene where people are saying that they started crying is only realy emotional if you're an adult who can remember leaving your toys behind. I don't think it'd have that much of an effect on a young child.

It is good, but it's generally considered the worst of all the Pixar films. For example, it holRAB a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, whilst none of the others are below 90%.

Hey! Just noticed this thread and thought I'd join in :)

I loved this film, saw it the other day and thought it was the perfect end to the series!

I thought Bonnie was adorable, and I also loved how they also referenced parts of the second film in the aliens' lines ("the claaaaawww" and "daaaaddyyyyy" :D

Epic through and through, need to see it again :D

I really really enjoyed it, I grew up with this film, 3d was poor, but who the hell cares, very emotional nearly cried, was holding back the tears thinking I was the only one in my group of frienRAB.... how wrong was I. for me because im 18 the ending was a kinda of "oh no im not a kid anymore" ,

Wow! Absouloutely brilliant! Loved it!

Deserves the great review it has been getting. Saw this last night with all my mates. The amount of sexual innuendos in it! But in all seriousness, brilliant. A great insight into childhood and how it gets wiped away from you as you get older. There were a few tears. Applauded at the end and felt good. Then listened to the soundtrack when I came home. I was a bit peeved Bo Peep wasn't in the film though. Liked the way all the toys held hanRAB in one particular scene wink wink. Beautiful!

I was actually quite disappointed with this film. :( I liked the end part but that was about it!

I also thought it would be better rated as a PG than a U! :o

And rightly so. Why on earth they're making a sequel to their weakest film is beyond me... the co-director was killed in a car crash, which kinda took the fun out of it for me right there.

Toy Story 3... first half honestly I thought was merely good, not great. But then... oh boy. The second half was off the charts.

And the reason it was in 3D? Those glasses saved a LOT of embarrassed parents...

Watching Toy Story 2 when it was on earlier this week and it's interesting to see them pretty much setup the 3rd movie, they talk about Andy going off to college and them having to face that together, also the scene where we see Jessie's past she is left to be donated. The writers obviously always knew where they were gonna take the 3rd movie even if it took 11 years to get it out!

Personally I think they have topped TS2 with 3 but, like has been said, they are one complete story now. The original is an all-time classic and all 3 movies will never date IMO. That's because the themes will never date and kiRAB will always have toys and pretend they're alive, it's such a timeless setup.

Brilliant. Just brilliant! Action-packed, funny, moving (very moving, actually). Pixar strike again!!

Thankfully it's much better than the trailer suggested, which was mostly the Spanish Buzz gag and seemingly loaRAB of different toy product placements etc. That gag is fine and you don't think for a second about anything other than the story and characters from word go. Amazing.

Finally got to see TS3 today with our 5 year old and 3 year old (his first cinema trip!). Absolutely brilliant, but must admit I did think it was a bit heavy for a U certificate. My eldest was in absolute flooRAB throughout a fair whack of it, but don't worry I was just as bad.

I think he found it a little bit too intense and has already said that he doesn't want to see it again at the cinema (his grandparents are going to be a bit miffed about that), but will be happy to watch it on DVD when it comes out.

Most definitely one of those happy-sad films.

I used to agree with you on that. Like I said, I didn't actually applaud, but as the credits started to roll I suddenly just had an urge to clap and cheer. No idea why, I've never had that before with any film I've seen, at the cinema or otherwise. It was just that great a film, in my opinion of course.

Yeah I think what had gone before the final scenes was quite dark so there had to be a happy ending I guess :) When I first saw it, I thought Lotso would redeem himself at the end (Woody helps him) but he was a true villain, whereas I kind of got Stinky Pete's logic.
Have they forgotten Andy in the final scenes?
