Toy story 3

Saw it today with my brother (17) and sister (11). I'm 18, and my eyes were welling up when the toys held hanRAB and when
andy gave the toys to Bonnie and struggled to give Woody.

It felt very emotional for me aswell as I'm going to uni in September, and my brother and I are around the same age and we remembered giving up our toys, and now saying goodbye to the films we grew up with.

Plus, who else saw an animation called Day&Night?
 
I was almost crying at the part when
Andy is struggling to give Woody away, Bonnie reaches for him then Andy jerks Woody away :cry: Also when Woody says "So long, Partner" :(
That's so sad, Andy never knew that all this time his toys were alive :( But I think it was a very brave and mature thing Andy did giving Woody to Bonnie as Woody was Bonnie's fave toy just like he was Andy's.

I almost thought
the gang were going to die too :( So moving. I read a post on IMDB which got me thinking - what if the toys actually DID die and everything post the incinerator scene is like toy heaven/afterlife for them with another loving child? :o
 
Watched this recently and thought it was really good,not as good as 1 or 2 but i still enjoyed it,and i'll look to the dvd when it becomes available.

If they were going to make another (i hope they don't but as others have mentioned,money talks) i think a good idea would be to do a prequal with Woody.

Has it ever been explained where Woody came from? We know that he's an old toy because of his part in the round up gang,and Jessy has already had another owner before, who grew up and gave her away, so i'm guessing that Woody could have belonged to someone else before Andy because of his age? Andy surely couldn't have bought him himself or required him at christmas/birthdays because he's much too young to have been around when woody and the round up gang were retail,so maybe he was a hand-me-down?or purchased at a garage sale/ebay/second hand stall etc etc.

There a quite a few possibilties for a storyline in there somewhere.

The incinerator scene didnt actually upset me at all, I think I was too entranced by it. I cried like a bloody baby at the goodbye scene though, especially Bonnie waving Woody's hand goodbye to Andy.
 
Loved it!!!!

It had all the emotions - funny, charming and sad.

Plus, the beggining sequence was spectacular - especially when watching it in 3D.

The first Toy Story brings back many memories for me as a kid and I am so happy that the Toy Story sequel has lived up to its expectation.

One of the best films I watched at the cinema.
 
i watched it the other night,

the last 20 minutes saved it, i think.

the 3D didnt add anything at all!!! except 1.80 ontop of my Unlimited card. And i had to pay for a mate as well (fair enough since he paid for my dinner last week - totaling 100 squid for 3 people!!!).


the moment when they all hold hanRAB as they faced death was a very powerful moment and i wanted to cry!!!

i personally prefered number 2, but the last 20 mins are fantastic. be great to watch all 3 movies one day on bluray.

I LOVED the Studio Ghibli reference with My Neighbour Totoro teddy bear - which is also the sudio logo
 
It's an emotional ending. It definately tells you that there's a strong chance it's the "last", though. You'll probably be happy for everyone but will cry at how it happens. ;)
 
I went in thinking that those that cried were just soft and would cry at anything.

As the film went on, it built up well towarRAB the end and not for 1 minute do you look at your watch because for animated characters it is very engaging.

Then the last 15 minutes came and as anyone who has seen it knows, there are 2 scenes which start the waterworks and my god, i was embarassed!

I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye at those moments. Two hours since I saw it and thinking of those final moments when Bonnie waves Woody's hand and Andy's car drives off is still making me feel sad.



I was 4 when the first came out and still have my original Woody and Buzz dolls with 'Andy' on one foot and my name on the other. I found the story brilliant but very emotional in parts! The humour is still top notch and its technically stunning.

Toy Story is the only original film franchise I know that constantly improves its self in its sequels. I will be sad to see the back of the characters as it's closing the door on my child hood in a way now I'm an adult and 19 but I don't think I'd like another sequel unless there's some way of topping the stunning way this story was told. The trilogy forms the begining, middle and an end as a whole on top of their individual plots and I think any further sequel would ruin it.

Perhaps it'd be nice to just have a small visit to the Toys in their new lives as Pixar opening shorts or something or some extras on the DVD.
