Toxicology, What will it tell me?

I'm so sorry for your loss and then having to struggle to get things done on top of it! A toxicology report will show alcohol, drugs (street and prescription) or other ingested poisons.

I too am sorry for your loss.

You should be able to call the local coroner's office and ask what a standard tox screen test for. I know you can do it here in the states but it might be different there in Canada.

My deepest sympathy for your loss.

The toxicology test will determine what medications she had in her system at the time, the levels in which they were present and if they were at theraputic or toxic levels.

Some examples of what will show up on the toxicology screen will be - caffiene, nicotine, OTC medications, RX medications, alcohol, etc.

You should be able to look at the ng levels to tell what is theraputic and what is toxic.

Take care.....

PS - if you have any more questions about autopsy or toxicology, feel free to send me a PM.
