Tournament arcs/stories: Your thoughts

Bleach and Kenshin did it, the only thing missing was a ring. The entire Soul Society arc was a tourney arc, as was the second half of the Kyoto arc. When it's one-on-one for no reason other than "pride," it just feels like a tourney battle.
