Tourists: Inherently Moronic?

Warning: I'm very pissed off.........so if you're not in the mood to read a bunch of bitching, this isn't where you want to be.

Anyways, I am at my wit's end with my job. I swear the tourists get dumber and dumber every year and my patience for them is whittling away to practically nothing. For instance, don't whine to me about how you normally sleep with twenty pillows cause of your "bad back" ( ), and there's only four in the room. I'm not going to use up a box of Kleenex crying over that one, okay? I'm not buying it! Maybe you should have brought some from home instead of assuming we would hear your claim of having a "bad back" and feel sorry for you, therefore round up every pillow in the building just for you. It's called preparedness-- learn it!

Also, it is not my problem you got lost on the way here. I'm assuming, since you booked your reservation on the internet, you also had access to other various websites-- such as MAPQUEST. Who goes out of state, to an area they've never been to before without bringing a map, anyway? :confuse: Seriously, how stupid is that? Oh, but why use a map when you just call the hotel every 15 minutes asking for directions? It's not like I'm answering several other phone lines, making reservations, cancelling reservations, fetching pool towels pillows and blankets for ungrateful nitwits such as yourself, recommending restaurants (they're all chains, what makes you think the fucking Bob Evans here is much different from the one by your house? Duh.), checking rooms in, taking wake-up call requests, selling amusement park tickets (which have to be logged on a chart), giving driving directions, cashiering, looking up phone numbers for people who didn't bother to look in their room for a phone book for if they had they'd realize they have one, and so on and on and on the list goes.

And I get to do all of this alone! That's right, no one is here to help me. Most of the guests realize this, but they don't care. They'll send me on a wild goose chase for a fucking comb while there's a lobby full of people waiting to check-in, and three phone lines ringing, etc. I'm fucking done. I don't get paid enough for this. Atleast if I'm going to work somewhere where I am constantly nagged, brow-beaten, and treated like a fucking maid for eight hours a day, I'm going to do it for more than the piddle-piss I make here. ugh. This place is a joke. :mfinger:

Hmm...Can I have a wake-up call at 6 am and another at 6:15 am?

Can you send me up a bottle of wine?

Can you get me some more sheets?- I think I soiled these...

Can you , can you, can youuuuuuuu :P

Don't whine, I work at the fuckin dish. I'm constantly rushing, and the pay sucks. I'd rather do what you do than to work in the fucking kitchen with all the heat and grease, for LESS money.

edit: Actually, no I wouldn't. Now that I think about it, I used to work in customer service and it totally sucked. I quit before I got fired, after telling a lady to (literally translated) go take a shit. (the anger built up in me, and I let it out. I can't keep it in, therefore I couldn't do what you do.)

You get tourists in Ohio?

Anyways... my sister works at a Holiday Inn (no Chingy jokes) and apparently the best remedy is to steal things from your loyal customers

Customer service sucks. People will always take advantage of the fact that while they could look for or get something, they will ask you instead, becuase your there.

I work in a Claire's and between screaming little kids and grouchy old people, I got a list of shit to do to, but its them who keep me from doing it. It's a fairly small store, and once when I was standing behind the register, a lady and her daughter accidently knocked something down from the wall. But when the little girl went to pick it up, the mom said, "No, honey, thats the cash-lady's job here." But I cant go over and slap her in the face and tell her that its not my fucking job to pick up after her ugly little fuckling. People suck.

Unfortunately. Most of them come out to go to Geauga Lake (dumb amusement/water park, formerly a Six Flags/Sea World) or to go to the Rock Hall.

Now you're talking my language! Could I possibly agree more? NO FUCKING WAY. I make 8.90 per hour, and I've heard every one of those zoloft, and more, like you have I'm sure. The people just get worse and worse. They expect insane things, and when I shoot them down, they get uberpissed. I told one room they could only have 2 extra pillows and that was all I had left. "Can you take some from another room?" I said no. More inane fucking comments like the above, and I said no. Then they wrote a letter about what an asshole I am. People suck, customer service forces you to confront lots of people, ergo customers suck. It's logic plain and simple!

One more thing, now that I think about it. People from overseas who stay here, and we get quite a few, NEVER act like Americans. They are polite, never ask for too much, and are the best customers around. That says something.. I wonder what it is... hmmmmmm

ok i never read the bitching part, too long sorry girl. but after reading the posts i got the jist of it
anyhoo, i love being a tacky tourist! it so rocks, i'm gonna get one of those big ass floppy hats and a camera to hang off of my neck and come to ohio. wait whats in ohio? well i'll come and irritate you anyways  maybe i need pillows or klenex ;)
