Touring Exhaust Question??????

I have a 05 E glide Fuel injected . i want to take off True duals and stick a set of stock head pipes and SE or stock mufflers . I know it sounds like I'm going backwards ! But I don't need loud exhaust on a dresser and any HP gains are quite nominal .
Had a guy write me has a complete set of stocker pipes from a 07 He says will fit . HD counter guy says 99 to 06 fits . Who is right ???
I was going to just stick stock mufflers on the Samson dual head pipes but I'm told that I will still get the poping and odd idle I have cause the crossover pipe is not there .
Is this correct ??
And yes my bike was remapped by HD who installed the pipes for the last owner but it still pops and spits at deacceration .
I had carb on my last bike FlHt It wouls pop like this when the o rings on the intake were loose or shot .
First Fuel injected model .
The last question What is the difference in the pipes off a carb model and a Fuel injected model ?????? I saw a complete take off a 05 on e bay for 75.00 and he says they are spotless but the guy says it will fit carb models only ??? Why would they be different?? Thanks in advance for any advice Seems to be the best place to get good HD info ,Thanks

06 bikes started with the 02 sensors. if you get a set of pipes with the ports just plug them with an 18mm oil drain plug. i just took off my true duels and went with stock head pipes and se mufflers and could not be happier

Exhaust systems are the same Carburetor or EFI. The only change was the O2 that was added.
I took a 2002 set of pipes and put them on a 1989 Ultra. Fit Perfectly.

I looked and looked there are no o2 sensors on these pipes ! they are just like pipes I had on all my carb bikes no sensers / no wires . I know HD put them on for the guy I bought it off as I have his paperwork . I Cant believe Is it possible to cut them out ? I would expect to get engine codes if they were removed . Anyone else have Samson true duals notice a lot of poping and spitting at deaceration ?

I didn't refresh my page before I wrote last post . So I didn't see your replys until I hit the send button . Thanks I thought I was losing it at 5am crawling under the bike before work looking for wires . I think I found a set of SE pipes and mufflers off a 02 SE RK for 250 .
about 150mi from home . For a dresser I like the mellow tone of these . And maybe I'm getting old also ! Thanks Guys !!!

O2 sensors started in '07 not '06 in the touring line. "07 pipes won't fit an '05,different engine. No difference in carbed or FI as for the pipes. What mufflers are you pulling off? I have a friend that may want them.

It's all the same engine. The earlier models where 88" w/ 4" stroke. You made them 95" by boring them out to 3.875" and if you put the 4.375" stroke crank in, you got 103". The newer models(that come with the 4.375 crank) have the pistons same as the older 88". It's all the same BASIC engine in different internal configurations. I run 2007(aftermarket pipes w/ 02 sensor bungs) on a 2002 engine. I use the 02 bungs for tuning. When I'm not tuning, I keep them plugged.

The seller of the '07 pipes is right. I have a friend who installed some '07 pipes on a '96 RK (Evo) and they fit fine. You'll just need to plug the O2-sensor bungs unless you plan on using an auto-tune system.

None that I know of.

IClick is 100% right. 05's didn't have o2 sensors. Going with the 07 headpipe allows you to later add an autotune system that has o2 sensors is you so choose. Nothing wrong with having future choices. As IClick mentioned, you'll need to plug the o2 sensor bungs. Plugs are readily available.
