Topics my boyfriend and I can discuss?

We don't really have that much in common. He lives in town, I live in the country, he goes to public school and I'm homeschooled. I know that don't sound like a lot but it is. Anyway, all there is is this deathly silence when we hang out, we just mumble stuff about the weather or something lame. We really do like each other so don't tell me to go find someone else. If I didn't like him enough to do that I wouldn't bother with him in the first place. I just want to know how I can get a conversation started and kill all that annoying silence in the air.
We both like animals, funny movies, we're both soft hearted and he's a little shy in a way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just want to get over the awkwardness and really get to know him. Thanks and God Bless
 
No offense, but you guys seem like a pretty lame couple. Why are you attracted to him if you guys barely have conversations and such? Like.. animals, funny movies.. its not the hardest thing in the world to find someone who enjoys those things.

But to answer your question, bring up topics like abortion or the meaning of life or something interesting/debatable/deep like that.
 
i know that feeling. me and my boyfriend had that problem and we still do sometimes. ummm talk about y''alls relationship or the next time you will each other or what happened in y'alls day.
