Top Worst Fathers in animation

Definately. Mr. Stotch wouldn't be so bad if he didn't ground Butters for ever last little thing that goes wrong. I mean, the man was going to ground the poor kid for coming in last on the 'Cutest Boy List' at school, but at least Butters has never tricked another kid into eating his own parents.

Look at his children. Look at them. These kids are terrified of their own shadows. A parent's job is to prepare their children for the world. Ned Flanders fails that. Miserably.

Remember when the moth flew into the room? They PANICKED!

Mm. Overall I think the world is safer with Ned's kids than with Homer's (and I include Lisa in that assessment, since she's turned into a I'll-do-you-good-even-if-it-kills-you leftwing zealot. :D )

Worst father definately goes to Peter Griffin, especially in light of his treatment of Meg. I mean, the man SHOT her for no other reason than just her coming up and saying 'hi'.

Charlotte was, but I don't know about Drew. I'd say his biggest problem, other than his brotherly qurrals with Stu, was that he needed a backbone; SOMEONE needed to smack Angelica some sense in, and SOMEONE needed to take away Charlotte's cellphone and make her spend time with her family.

One father that comes to mind for me is "Dale Gribble" from KOTH. My reason might sound similar to GregX reason for Ned, since he fears his own son from time to time, and the fact that Joseph is borderline psychotic. Also the recent example for him using his son to move up in society comes to mind. Atleast with Hank, he tries to teach Bobby how to do things the right way.

Francis Griffin- Okay, he hates his son since Peter's childhood due to the fact that he wasn't the father and calls him an idiot when he was alive.

Let's see, Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, the dad from Cow and Chicken, the dad from Fairy Odd Parents, and the dad from Dexter's Lab (they gotta start naming cartoon parents, it's confusing)

Even in the older seasons Ned's super protective parenting was hurtful to his kids, it's gotten worse in the later seasons but it has always been bad.

Ned went a bit more wacko after his wife died. He gone so overprotective.
Watch the episode 'Bart has Two Mommies', he got Rod and Todd to crawl up the stairs after getting paper cut from a playing card, and put stakes under the seesaw to make it 'safer'.

Was Dexter's dad that bad? He was a little goofy from time to time, but he was a pretty good father for the most part. The truck stop episode showcased him pretty well. The only times he was really overbearing was when he wanted Dexter to do more outdoor activities, like most dads.

I think it's just a matter of some posters mixing up fathers who are horrible at parent with parents who just have odd or bad traits (traits which don't relate to child raising).
