Honestly, it would all depend on what kind of a rider you are really. If you like to get into turns or if you ride more for leisure? For aggresive riders I would say go with shorter bags 3" is the best and usually you will be grinding your foot boards before your get to your bags.
For the leisure riders I would say anything will work but ultimately it's up to what you really want your bike to look like. How much of the exhaust do you want covered? Are you looking for more space in the bags for travel benefits? All of these will play factors in a set of bags that will best suit you.

Hey Justin-
Bags and CF screen all arrived today in great condition. Loved the packaging...gonna save that inner wrap for sure! Paint looks great, carpeting first-rate, and the pull tabs for those lower doors were a nice touch. I'm really impressed with the CF part, totally unique and at the stock height, which is hard to find in more typical materials aftermarket. Thanks!

awesome, wish i would have seen this, all i need is a new fender now, started my paint and body, like the baddad stuff, with the flush brake and turn sigs
