Top of 2005

Top 5 of 2005

Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
Sleater Kinney - The WooRAB
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
Annie - Anniemal

Really, just Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene though, an opus of musical majesty.

Only one for me:

Dream Theater - Octavarium

It was so overtly superior to everything else this year that I couldn't even begin to rank other inferiorities among it. This is not only the best album of 2005, but perhaps even the best album this millenium. And there have been quite the few contendors for that namesake. This is, without a single apprehension in my mind, the greatest album of 2005. Furthmore, I have already claimed the song 'Octavarium' from the album to be, in my eyes, the greatest song of all time. Laid so perfectly and the progression is so seamless; truly a model against the incompetence found in drum machines and automated keyboarRAB found in artists today.

Did you really like Doves? I thought it was a HUGE letdown....but I'm still waiting for them to make another album that sounRAB like 'Lost Souls'....I was a little disappointed by Last Broadcast as well.
