need to get the well speed under control before we can start to pour the concrete. Doing two separate concrete caps (two series of pours). That is all I can say. Time frame is not available.

Word. I heard they displaced with water before doing a negative test on the cement plugs/wellhead. They probably did that because it makes things go a lot faster when it comes time to leave location. When they displaced with water they lost a lot of hydrostatic pressure and well came in. I think I remember reading they were using 16.0 ppg mud so at 5,000 feet that is 16.0 x 5,000 x .052 = 4,160 psi at the BOP stack from the mud above. When they displace with water it becomes ~8.4 x 5,000 x .052 = 2,184 psi. They effectively lost 2,100 psi of pressure that was holding the gas down, so that shit came up.

I know this would be impossible to do, but if you were in a sub down there and you filled said sub up with water and healed you breath and opened up the hatch and swam out would your chest explode?

I have no idea. When I started the thread, you would have been seeing oil gushing out of a pipe. This might be a portion of the BOP.

They are expecting it to leak out but eventually with so much pressure from the drill it will stop and start clogging...hopefully.

Looks like CNN has an alternate view.

To my untrained eye, that doesn't look good Hopefully it's better than it appears.
