Correct. I am switching companies to do field engineer work for Topside construction. Do not do jackets often anymore since all of our work is so far out these days.

Yeah, I was listening to the national news and they're talking about the company man's actions now.

one of the biggest fuck ups in human history and we are throwing shit at the wall. we suck

I don't believe it ever had a chance. Too much pressure to be able to inject into, especially considering the amount of gas in the well and the vast amount of holes in the riser.

yeah, BP claiming 60-70% chance of this working... probably really means its barely a 50/50 shot. they really have no fucking clue how to fix this mess.

So do you know how long the entire procedure should take? I know they were saying it might be a day or two before they know whether or not it was successful, but what's the time period over which mud will be pumped into the BOP? And how soon after would they start pouring in the concrete?

Even if they were only getting 1 BPM down the well, which would be a 95% loss through the riser at 20 BPM, that is only 8 hours to fill a string of 7".

Knowing the pressure that can be put on the crews on these rigs and the chest thumping that can happen. It all sounds like the oil field I know.

Given that the BOP was raped by a pressure it was not suited for, I can assume that it is going to have new leaks when a physical water jet blew through the center of it. LOL

They need to LMRP the riser and stack a new BOP on top and inject from there.

I can't believe they still have left that riser pipe on the top of the original bop as long as they have.
