deepwater platforms are going to become more and more prevalent as all the shallow wells get tapped...just a fact

And the immediate damage is catastrophic

why's that? last i knew, my parents were getting royalties off the place they sold up there a few years ago.

just curious

there's never been a BOP fail yet so there was no reason for "more" attention than inspecting them every 2 weeks, etc

once they find out why this one failed you can bet there will be more attention and money thrown at this.

people up here. lots of protests from the citizens in the community. people saying ever since they started there's fumes or some shit giving them headaches. illegal dumping, lots of truck traffic.

Obama is about spreading the wealth. Here fucker, spread the bills. It works both ways

so, by speeding up the process to get off of location faster..... that would be laziness.

All to get home a little bit quicker. A few hours is not going to increase a profit margin that much on a job.

whoever said anything about an oil rig? oil rigs stay above the surface

we're talking about the BOP and i guarantee it was tested to work at that depth otherwise they would have never fucking tried it.
