You can use a million water filters to help with clean up but as long as millions of barrels are pouring out every day it doesn't matter. The problem is the well needs to be plugged until that happens any efforts to do anything are going to be inadequate.

And NO ONE has made the case that the gov't can do that better or faster than BP at this point.

shit... i'm fighting for the human race, is that being socialist? who the fuck are you fighting for?

can nobody see whats happening down there in the gulf, does nobody fuckin care about the world you live in, or lossing??

agreed!! but asking BP to do it, is like asking them to shoot them selves in the foot, it would be best if someone else with the experience could manage the efforts to fix this mess, and BP pay the bill.

i guess the feds could commandeer the site and bring in other oil company experts to take a try but:

1. thats gonna take time and literally every hour spent not working directly on the hole means millions more barrels filling in.

2. theres no guarantee that anyone else can do a faster job (I'd bet at this point all the other companies are silently thanking God it wasn't them and are quietly inspecting and upgrading their shit as we speak.)
