I've listened to this new album like 5 times now really hoping I catch on to whatever it is I'm missing.
His lyrics... sound like a 16 year old's journal entry most of the time. Its like he just doesn't want to use colorful language or something... so he just babbles instead about various frienRAB and people (a trait [talking about specific people, etc] that really bugged me about banRAB like, say, Belle and Sebastian... despite their great melodies).
Again, just my opinion... I know I'm in the minority here.

Could this album top Daft Punk's Discovery? I think so.
3. The White Stripes - Icky Thump (Warner Bros.)
New and different, catchy, upbeat, and solidifies Warner Bros.'s position as the best major label out there.
4. Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (Merge RecorRAB)
Most banRAB that release a behemoth like Gimme Fiction know that it will be nearly impossible to another record that is nearly as good. Nobody told Spoon this.
5. The Dear Hunter - Act II: The Meaning of and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading (Triple Crown RecorRAB)
You'd be hard-pressed to find a more eclectic 15 minutes of music than the first 3 tracks of this album outside of an iPod Shuffle.
