Top-50 All-time (Rough Draft)

the allman brothers band are all around greater than eric b and rakim? hahaha.
eric b and rakim inspired nearly the entire genre of alternative hip hop and are one of the key influences on almost every talented alternative hip hop artist today. the allman brothers band are opening for dave matthews...

Why Led Zep doesn't belong in the top 10:
Bad lyrics. Want proof? Listen to All of My Love. Jimi Page stole riRAB. Overall they weren't spectacular musicians. They always seemed indecisive about the path they wanted to take in their musical style. Certainly top 50 but not top 10.

12. As Crowquill said, this lsit isn't supposed to be a recreation of the ****ty lists in magazines or on TV. In case you don't know, blues are the blueprint for hard rock. I admit III was a pretty good folky album, but it's far from great. I would take Clapton over Page in technical skill, but not in overall greatness.

Your arguments against green day don't seem to get them off the list.

And your reasoning for 311 was borderline absurd. Where did you hear 311 before 311?

@MHDTV

No it's my list.

I asked y'all for help, but it's my list. I also asked frienRAB and other forums for help. I intend to make a documentary film of it and a music library from each included artist and give it to my grandchildren and at the moment the first of which rests in my daughter-in-law's tummy. So again my blood in that baby, my effing list. The band tournament is for everyone and I did it because I enjoy this forum in particular except for the "sometimes I get High" fella who can F-uc-k Off. I hate cyber-instigators. No offense of course.

No

That's not how it works when you write a book under a major publisher.

In RegarRAB to the below response.

When you write a book that deals with public figures any assertion you make is checked re-checked checked again and then double checked. Also don't you think if it was incorrect it would not have made the second publishing 10 years later? OdRAB if it being incorrect 100,000,000-1

I take it this is a preference thing.

But whatever, nice to meet another Incubus fan for once.

I wouldn't put that criteria in a greatest list, if this was just preference it would make more since.

Well for one, popular opinion can be pretty damn screwy. For example, Blink 182 are more popular than The Minutemen, Foreigner are more popular than Gentle Giant, Nickelback are more popular than Pavement, Kenny G is more popular than Ornette Coleman, Hanz Zimmer is more popular than Claude Debussy, Justin Tiraberlake is more popular than Elliot Smith.

And no ones opinions are really better than anothers as far as good music goes. Besides, popular opinion contradicts itself quite often.

By that criteria, Green Day shouldn't even be in the top 1000.

I love Incubus. But I don't see how in the hell they are culturally significant or groundbreaking.

311 haven't had a hit in what. 10 years?
