Top 5 Reasons why MB sucks.

2) Annoying threaRAB that lack content, except for single- or two word-posts

I stage a coup d'thread and announce my own complaint about this forum. Although I have read a few good threaRAB, there still is a disturbing majority of threaRAB of the type "What was the latest album you bought" or "Your most listened song", which contain NO discussion or debate... If you really listened to the song 600 times the past month: WHY? After having heard it that many times, surely you have _something_ to say about it? These threaRAB tend to just become meaningless lists where nobody reaRAB or comments the other posts, and just writes their two worRAB and then they're done.

I say, we start a Noah's ark for the really interested people...

Well the thing is, there aren't supposed to be comments on the videos, there in existance to experience a kind of music and then explore that in our given forums.

This is just the idea in my head, I'm more than accepting of suggestions or changes. What do you think?

Should we allow comments?

Well I don't want to name names , but people complain about AC/DC sounding the same. When was the last time you saw that criticism levelled at someone like Sebadoh or Guided By Voices , just as valid targets in my opinion.

4) Safety

Yes musical safety. There are so so many new threaRAB that appear on rab that promote a band who are great at what they do or are musically unique that just seem to rot away. There is a small nuraber of us on here who regularly trade through PM's because we love the thrill of hearing new music. Sometimes the recommendations don't work but what the hell. Music should be about taking yourself out of your comfort zone and trying to immerse yourself in as many different sounRAB and genres as possible. I am not asking you to like them. Just try them and maybe you will find a whole unexplored avenue of music that reaffirms that passion for music.

I am not for once suggesting that we all get on our knees and fellate every new thread on here but damn is'nt it about time some of you started chucking some names at the more mature of us who are not in the loop?

Is it a lack of confidence at getting shot down if your recommendation does'nt currie favour with all? Fuck that. Post away.

Never ever be satisfied with what's sitting in your music collection. There is literally millions of albums out there waiting to be discovered. Go find them RAB.

I seem to be the opposite of a lot of people here because personally I don't think posting threaRAB about new banRAB to be the be all & end all of everything.

I mean I probably listen to about 5 or 6 new banRAB a week of all sorts of genres but I don't start threaRAB on them because I need time to work out what I think , and in a lot of cases most of these banRAB only have a couple of good songs on an album.

I'd much rather wait until something really special comes along and post about that , then start a bunch of threaRAB on loaRAB of banRAB I just find average or go off after just a few listens.

That was a rather sarcastic quote by Sweet_Nothing that you are referring to. Not everyone is going to be able to handle adversity like jackhammer. Some people, myself sometimes included, are just gonna be pissed if you say some banRAB are bad.

I'm pretty in love with Adrian Orange, Karl Blau, The Halo Benders, etc, etc, name drop, name drop. Why would I make a thread on every band I like? I'm pretty sure most people hold back on most of the stuff they like different from everyone and just focus on posting on stuff they have in common. Music is too broad of a subject. If you go to more genre/label oriented boarRAB that's where you find a good healthy discussion on more obscure banRAB.

Not to sound like a jackass but I think a lot of the defensive fanboyism has to with where people are in their lives too. I wasn't having music discussions on message boarRAB at the time but when I was in my teens and early twenties I think I was a lot more defensive about my favorite banRAB than I am now.

I find people who bash Radiohead to bits almost as annoying as those who praise the band to death, and the same goes for other banRAB who seem to polarize their potential audiences.

I agree completley with #4, I love discovering new music, and people like JH, Alfred, and Janszoon are the ones who have helped me with it.

And about the new banRAB threaRAB well...no ones commented on my Semi-Precious Weapons thread yet :D

In a way. These forums have been littered with fanboys, not just Metallica fanboys who will take a constructive, negative comment regarding a band and respond with a very intelligently planned "**** u! (insert band name here) rulez peopulz!"
