Top 5 of the year

* Shrek 2
* Finding Neverland
* Bridget Jones
* The Incredibles.

That's all I can remember from this year, although I'm sure there must be some good ones I've left out: wasn't impressed with HP3 & I'm sure Pirates of the Caribbean was last year?

You're kidding, right? :rolleyes:

Erm, not much around of any quality this year. Saw was very good. Spiderman 2 was ok. More attempts at 'blockbusters' that were inevitably going to be sh*t to be honest. Harry Potter, Troy, yada yada yada.

And I wasn't aware Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and The Matrix came out this year. :confused:

Lost in Translation. Bill Murray's finest hour (and he's had some other good ones up 'til now. Scarlett Johansson smoulders, and her performance with Murray is truly execptional.

Kill Bill Vol 2. Unlike many, for met this was the better of the two. Darryl Hannah and Michael MaRABen were class, but Carradine and Thurman were in a league of their own. As always, Tarrantino's script was flawless.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Kaufman never fails to dissapoint, a wonderfully weird, touching and funny picture. Carrey was perfectly suited to the lead role and Winslet, who isn't someone I rated, was very good. Dunst and Wood provided unexpected, but very good backup roles.

Shaun of the Ded. Just bloody funny. Simon Pegg is a genius.

not sure if it was this year or last, but Alex Cox's 'Revenger's Tradgedy' was amazing. Christopher Eccleston and Eddie Izzard gave superb performances with one of the smartest scipts i've ever heard.

tee hee

I only put Troy down because I went expecting to see the worst film ever and it wasn't THAT bad. Mark my worRAB - it's a cult classic!! The bit when Sean Bean is looking at the carving of a wooden horse then does that 'hmmmmm, I have a plan face'.... marvellous. If you want my serious contender for 5th place, I really enjoyed HP3, but I've a feeling Garden State will be in there after I've seen it tomorrow!! :)

PS - I hate happing endings too. I never watch the last ten mins of when H met S

Lol :) I had heard so much bad stuff about Troy before I went to see it that my expectations were pretty low anyway - it wasn't quite that bad. But I'd have to ignore a lot to put it down as one of the best films I've seen this year. But it looks like I've only seen pretty crappy films this year anyway so who cares :rolleyes:
