** - the rundown was 'scary moments' not necessarily horror films, hence the inclusion of these TV shows.

Although not without it's flaws - like why the re-make of The Ring and not the original? And why The Blair Witch Project at all? This is I think perhaps closer to the titles you'd expect to see on a classic horror list.

I've seen about 13 of those, very few of the early ones.Of the early ones though,Freaks (about a circus freakshow, using real freaks),has one of the most memorable scenes for me.The Snakeman,(a guy with no arms and no legs) somehow manages to take a cigarette out of a packet and light with a match, all using his mouth and tongue. Neat trick.I'm sure it helped him score with the ladies, even if they were bearded.......:D

I watched 'Night of The Living Dead' the other day just for curiosity value.

Didn't expect much from it, but it surprised me how brutal it was. I didn't expect that from an old black-and-white movie. It was fantastic actually.

6). The Fly (1986)
7). Alien (1979)
8). Halloween (1978)
9). Carrie (1976)
10). Jaws (1975)
12). The Exorcist (1973)
16). Psycho (1960)
18). Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
22). Frankenstein (1931)

The ones I agree with.

My favourite 25 in no particular order:

1. Night of the Living Dead (original version)
2. Alien
3. Scream
4. American Werewolf in London
5. Evil Dead 1
6. Exorcist
7. Dracula (Hammer Horror version)
8. Dracula (1931)
9. The Wolfman
10. The Howling
11. The Wicker man (1973 version)
12. The Fog (1981 version)
13. Frankenstein (Boris Karloff version)
14. Fright Night 1
15. Dawn of the Dead (1978)
16. Day of the Dead
17. Nightmare on Elm Street 1
18. Halloween
19. The Omen
20. Saw
21. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
22. Zombie Flesh Eaters
23. Curse of the Werewolf
24. Dracula, Prince of Darkness
25. Jaws

It didn't scare me as such, but I do regard it very highly. It's a brilliant film that I can watch again and again. I think you're right, this should have been in the the Top 25 list.

Shaun of the dead wasnt good nevermind a horror

Got hyped us as brilliant and when i say it i wasnt too impressed

Halloween should be number 1 imo

I think N.O.T.L.Dead's copywrite run out/Hollywood forgot to renew it or something so it became a public access film (free to the public).Hence that's why it is so cheap on DVD and always on 3rd rate, cheapskate Sky channels late at night.

Either way brilliant movie although it never had much of an effect on me,probably as I had seen the also as fantastic Dawn Of The Dead first.

Yeah I was aware, and just like with the Battle Royale (my all time favourite film) remake I'm dreading to see what they will do to it, a couple of press pictures were released a few months ago, they can be found here if people havn't seen them:

http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3187&Itemid=99

Seem to have the tone of the house right from the glimpses on the photo, but the up-to-date clothes look a little out of place for me.

I think "Exorcist The Beginning" should have been in a top 25 horror movie list, also "Anthropophagous the Beast" must have one of the most scariest pieces of music in it that I have ever heard

Yeah I've seen those photos from the remake, don't have much hope for it. Is it me or does one of the girls look like Ellen Page, thought it was her at first.

I heard about the Battle Royale remake too, is there even anything official on it from New Line yet? I hope it falls through.

I thought neither of them were worthy prequels, but of the 2 Dominion was much better. All a matter of taste I suppose.
