I couldn't possibly do a top 20 as there are a handful that standout,and the rest are all pretty equal.
But my top few are :

OHMSS
Goldfinger
Goldeneye
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Living Daylights
 
I don't really have time to sort out my top 20, so like above, I'll just do a top 5.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Just noticed each film has a different Bond- not intentional!!

the rest are pretty much equal sixth with the exception of OHMSS which was an aberration along the same lines as casting John Cleese as "Q" and Vijay Amritraj as a tennis racquet wielding agent.

OHMSS was just a one of a kind Bond movie, I like it but then I hate it. So it just sits on the side for me
 
I don't understand the commercial success or the fan's high regard for Thunderball :confused:

I think it's boring and slow in comparison, and certainly didn't warrent a remake (I know, that was because he had the rights to make it...)

.. I have some time for License To Kill as well, because it dared to be different - grittier and more violent.

The worst have to be, in no particular order:

Die Another Day (What WERE they thinking?)
The Living Daylights
Octopussy
The Man With The Golden Gun
 
OHMSS does have the best theme music....very original...

And the ending....well, it's certainly shocking the first time you see it...firstly the "James Bond shouldn't be married" part then the tragic climax....

But in between its too....light...

My favourite would have to be Tomorrow Never Dies I think....and despite everyone loving it I don't really like Goldfinger.....much prefer The Man With the Golden Gun if we're going for Gold (ugh!)

(oh, just realised my list is spookily close to Elena's :eek: ...I also like OHMSS a lot, The Man With The Golden Gun aint great, but not too bad either.)

...when there's only been 20 (if you don't include Never Say Never Again and the David Niven Casino Royale)? To choose a top 20 means to choose them all. That's like saying choose your top 20 teams currently in the English Premier League. Or choose your top three teams that Robbie Fowler has scored goals for in the Premier League. You'd have to choose them all. Wouldn't a top 10 have made more sense?

Having said that, my favourites are From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, OHMSS, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Living Daylights and Goldeneye. Least favourites are Thunderball, DiamonRAB Are Forever, Moonraker, A View To A Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough.
 
Having a top 20 lets us put the whole series in an order of favourite to least favourite.

After this week people can do their list again, but include Casino Royale, which means one unlucky film (Die Another Day or Octopussy usually) won't even get listed :)

Oh, I love For Your Eyes Only! It's the most serious of the Roger Moore BonRAB, and I thought Melina Havelock was a great character!
 
Compared to Moonraker and Octopussy, For Your Eyes Only is not bad in my opinion. The cheap humour was largely gone, and Melina was an interesting Bond Girl.
