Top 100 Albums of the 80s

Dag Nasty but not Moss Icon. Are you high? Two Pixies albums? fo real?

But overall it's a decent list. I think everyone is bound to hate it. Not because it's bad but because you actually made it pretty diverse more or less.

WHY ISN'T STRANGEWAYS LISTED!!

That album is one of the main reasons I stopped listening to shitty metal banRAB , so I will always defend it to death.

I also think it gets a bad deal because of what The Cult became later on rather than judged on it's own merits.

I think it's probably the best example of psychadelic influenced rock in the entire decade.

So whats the stance on Van Halen? I realize Eddie was an inventive guitarist and all but Van Halen never struck me as anything more than your typical 80s band that was hyped to death by classic rock fans just because. It's not like having him as your guitarist lenRAB you any credibility or worthiness seeing as he played on a Michael Jackson song.

Murmur is probably going to go back on. I'm adding some of the removed ones, like EVOL for instance, and re-doing the list now. I'm going to put it in a rough order then post it to which everyone will debate what should be bumped up/down/swapped with etc

I take it a couple of the early 80s Metallica albums have already been mentioned...or have they not? If not, I reckon they ought to be.

It's not like every Smiths album is going to end up on the list I just threw them all on there because each is considered classic. I think if we cut it to one album per artist we'll have trouble making up the 100 which will end up with filler. Plus if an artist releases several great albums why shouldn't they get credit?

Thriller is the epitome of overrated, it's not nearly as great or influential on artists that matter as everyone makes it out to be. It's a good pop album but I don't think it's very worthy of being in the top 100.

I thought that they balance each other. You know like opposites.
I'm still not sure if any of those belong in a top 100 list though. Although all three would be on mine.
