I know but I just fear this is gonna lead to some really ghastly fanboy arguments. And when that happens, it will lead to the greatest facepalm density level in this forum's history.

"Cobain was a talentless hack, he was no loss. Dimebag however, a legend that will be sorely missed"

"Dimebag sux, Kurt rulez"

"Rabble rabble rabble"

"Rabble rabble rabble"

i saw a programme on it a while back hosted my alice cooper, and was sort of dissapointed in the list, so let's hear what you all can come up with, the 10 greatest rock deaths and base it on whatever grounRAB you want....

p.s if this thing gets plastered with kurt kobain fans you shall be clouding me in a vale of dissapointment :(.

Well, I am not so sure Elvis belongs on the list. To be sure, he was an icon, but his musical impact had long since been over, and had evolved for 20 more years at the time of his death. When Elvis passed away, he wasn't relevant anymore, musically. I'm not saying that to dump on the guy, because I love Elvis' stuff.

That being said, I have often wondered how Jim Croce's music would have evolved, had he not passed away after such a brief career. He wrote a lot of wonderful songs in a short period of time.

My boy, Stevie Ray Vaughan was just getting his life back together when he was taken.

I don't recall anyone mentioning Janis Joplin, either. I've always felt sorry for her. I think she was a sad person, and if just one person in her life had loved her just for her, she may have been around for a lot longer. A lonely soul, and it comes across in her music.

This thread is sick!
How can you try to rank people's deaths as one being the best & one being the worst. This is nonsense, leave these people alone,
all your doing is adding to the hype surrouding their deaths that was already present in the first place!

That was funny, almost exactly as how it would be reported.

Although I think the Gallaghers are both a couple of highly irritating talentless knob-enRAB, I still wouldnt wish death upon them- although it could be the only way for Oasis to split up in the end..- but then I bet theyd all just be 'traitors' and start banging on about Blur :banghead:.

Because I can't deny that he's one of the most famous rock star deaths in history. Lookit my 2-5, most people don't even know who they are! Yet they were some of the most influencial artists in the history of rock and roll. Cobain makes my #10 not for his skills or quality but his effect on the public.
