Top 10 Rock Bands Ever?

I like Muse...thats it the rest is prog. and to be completely honest I don't like the prog I've heard. If someone can send me some that they thing I will like then I will listen to it. But lets see...I hate Nevermore, they are out of date. The 70-80s are gone.

Anyways, my list: (this is harder than I thought. Damn punk music, and your adictivity)
1. RATM
2. White Stripes (after this it is just going to be banRAB, can't make promises of them being rock/metal)
3. Matisyahu
4. Smashing Pumpkins
5. Buckethead
6. Queen
7. Muse
(I tried to, I really did but I just couldn't think of any right now)
8. Public Enemy
9. Beastie Boys
10. NWA

Nothing wrong with that.

It's all great music and it's a good launching pad to start from and eventually find more, less mainstream, music.

Glad to see you understand the lightheartedness of my "dis" against you (your sig) and nice to see you've kept the notorious Two on the DL.

Cheers and continue to post, love your contributions.

You haven't put the Who?
Sorry I must have missed something you haven't put the Who.
Perhaps there was some strange error in your submission whereby the Who somehow got missed out because you haven't put the Who.
!!!!!!!
Please correct the error as obviously your post has not been uploaded correctly and I think the nuraber one spot was missed out which would have said the Who.
Or maybe I am just falling for the huge joke you are playing.
Ah ha ha, I get it, very funny!!!!
Leaving out the Who to see who would notice first.
For a split second there I thought you had actually intentionally missed out the Who!! I really did. i didn't see the joke you were making!
Phew, I thought for one scary moment you had actually missed out the Who intentionally!
God my nerves nearly split.

No man, it is totally true. I may have heard something on PlanetRock before but I dont have any of their albums and cant name their songs im afraid. Ive heard there Prog Rock.
I first heard of them on these music forums & got mixed up at first with an avant garde band called 'King Missile' who are extremely weird and most people wouldnt like them although people like Zappa so I guess it's possible.
Anyway anybody got any first album recommendations for King Crimson.
I get the impression there one of the 'unsung' or lower profile Prog Rock banRAB such as 'Devo' or 'Camel' whom somebody introduced me to not that long ago and they are not bad banRAB.

Yeah this is pretty much what i was trying to say. It just isnt Rock as I would class it. I get what youre saying with them being around before Rush & Sabbath etc but I still wouldnt use the phrase 'more rock' than Sabbath or Rush. Also I think that people have different perceptions of genres obviously the core of the genre is still relevant but Ive had people say to me 'whats that headbanging your listening to?' & Ive been listening to Neil Young lol & I wouldnt class that as being 'heavy' as such.
I wouldnt even class Sabbath as being that heavy either tbh as I listen/have listened to much heavier stuff than that.
But fair enough man, youre entitled your own opinions as I am with mines :thurab:

I suppose.... maybe it's just cause you're always posting about prog I never really picked up on it. Hell, I didn't realize you were a Radiohead fan til maybe a month or two ago. SP were one of my favorites back in High School... I should do some revisting.

I can see the title of the thread I meant in general music terms with all your punk , electronica , psychadelia & drum & bass banRAB you like.
