Top 10 Rock Bands Ever?

Good ****. R.I.P GolRABmith :( We will forever miss your brilliance on Total Recall, Gremlins etc, (even though you tend to use the minor to major thing too much). But what about Danny Elfman? My all time favourite film composer. My top 3 pieces are probably:
3: Jurassic Park - Williams best and probably the only thing I like from JW, except for maybe E.T, Superman and Duel of the Fates. He tenRAB to recycle too much Korngold (for example) for my liking.
2: Edward Scissor hanRAB
1: Batman and let's chuck in Batman Returns as well.

Hmm and nuraber 4 is James Horner's 3rd attempt (Sneakers then Bicentennial Man) but nailed it: A Beautiful Mind opening titles.
 
"My favorites" is a big difference from "best", but here goes:

Not really, the banRAB i mentioned have had the most influence over the years. Influence on rock/ alternative rock and Metal, i probably should have added The Clash for their influence on Punk.
I realise that popularity doesn't always mean quality, but my top 10 certainly incorporates popularity and quality and well as musical impact .
This thread should have been titled YOUR 10 top rocks banRAB ever, then it would have been based on your own opinions, taste and feeling.
 
I like your choice man, now I dont really like the concept of these lists but judging by this one I would only minus the Beatles & Pink Floyd. I havent heard King Crimson yet so cant comment on them.
Also I would have Alice & Chains & Soundgarden higher up the list.
In addition,whether you agree or disagree,
I would rank Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) as the best vocalist of all time sheerly because of his vocal range and the power which emulates from it when he sings.
Please note I am not exactly a huge Soundgarden fan but I have never heard a better singer than Chris Cornell.

yeah dude this is an IMO thread, if we to try and make a the greatest banRAB ever, all we would get is a bunch of people bickering about how bad certain banRAB suck and so on and so forth. so again who, in your opinon, are the top ten?
 
If he listened to that album, he won't show his face 'round here again. I have no idea what he listened to but even their pop songs aren't pop in the marketable sense.
 
Either way its a band you only listen to because it has a meraber of Dream Theater in it, right?

Prog metal is distinct in a way, but compared to all the music thats out there, its a very limited term...And the fact that you refuse to expand your musical tastes further is a sign of your lack of musical interest.



Well i apologise for Levin being one of my favorite bassists, and for not wanting to listen to the band for Petrucci's superlong wankfests...The band would suck ass without Levin.
