Top 10 Rock Bands Ever?

Well, I guess that's a good point... Genesis, Pink Floyd, and a good many other "eccentric" seventies acts were very much commercial and non eccentric by the late eighties, and I guess its arguable that Queen didn't become as hoary as these tired two were getting....

And, well, as for the Stones... I probably don't have to continue on this line of thought...

It seems every year or so I'll get into a band so much that they'll enter my all time favorites and knock someone I've loved for years down a peg - so I don't think I could ever make a definitive list, especially not just 10...So right now these are the banRAB I'd name as favorites if I HAD to choose, in no order but the first:

Smashing Pumpkins (this will always stay #1)
My Bloody Valentine
Hum
Radiohead
Nirvana
The Smiths/Morrissey
The Beatles
Thrice
Rush
Catherine Wheel

Other All time favorites: Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, Bad Religion...I will always love those banRAB, I grew up with them.

Current Favorites I WANT to put on the list but can't kick anyone off: Guided By Voices, Far, Dinosaur Jr, Husker Du, Swervedriver

Any discussion of this neeRAB to include Black Sabbath. They helped revolutionize the rock genre and are still rocking away...at times.

The Beatles early music is definitely rock. If anything, it's some of their later stuff that moves outside of traditional rock territory, but even there I'd still call them a rock band.

My top ten banRAB are (In order...)

1) The Church
2) R.E.M
3) Genesis
4) Radiohead
5) The Smashing Pumpkins
6) My Friend The Chocolate Cake
7) Midnight Oil
8) Foo Fighters
9) Augie Maech
10) The Go Betweens

Who are LTS? Was that a typo or are you Dyslexic?

The following music critics have acclaimed LaBrie as one of the greatest singers rock has ever seen:

It's been recorded in countless different prog rock and prog metal magazines.

PS: I used to like Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, etc, but there's a time to move on and let go.
