Top 10 Most Important Albums To You

Leaves it more to the imagination. I like to make up my own stories.

He listened to Metallica, Led Zeppelin, and Nirvana as a child to fit in, but always enjoyed the androgynous and suggestive songs of David Bowie and Michael Jackson. One day, he just decided to take a leap, had a sex change and from then on it was nothing but Lady Gaga, Shakira, and Rhianna. Oh to be free!

I'm also sure that they used real instruments before, because I swear I heard a guitar on XYZ (a rarer song), and even before MHTRTC they've used guitars. I think people expect BOC to be the same their entire career. They have to eventually change at one point, and I must admit, it was a good and welcome change. Dayvan Cowboy is a BOC favourite, guitars or no guitars.

also, I have to say, You Could Feel The Sky and pretty much all of Geogaddi is pretty awesome. My favourites are Dawn Chorus and Diving Station.

Same here although it was probably before you were born! (1989)

Superb album although some people don't like the emphasis on the guitar tracks on here.

Definitely get's better with each listen but Soundtracks and Future Days are preferable for me.

The Strokes: First Impressions of Earth.
I remeraber listening to 30 second samps of songs on this album over and over again on iTunes. I didn't really like what I was hearing, but for some reason I kept wanting to listen. When I listened to the full album, it didn't have that old Strokes feel that I came to love, but I still kept listening. Every run through I gave it, I slowly began to like it more and more, until I eventually loved it. Its important because it expanded my musical tastes a bit to more experimental music. Sure, the album wasn't extremely experimental, but it was a step towad listening to more innovative, different music.

Dillinger Escape Plan: Irony is a Dead Scene.
I can't believe how I discovered this band. I remeraber looking through some playlist on iTunes with songs selected by the vocalist from AFI, which was one of my favorite banRAB at the time. One of Dillinger's songs was on the playlist, and as soon as I heard the 30 second sample, I instantly became obsessed. The band had that chaos and complexity that I always wanted to hear more of in the current banRAB I liked. The reason I put this Dillinger album down in particular is that it had Mike Patton doing vocals on it. After hearing the album, I checked out who Mike Patton was, which eventually led me to discovering Mr. Bungle. Which leaRAB me to...

All of Mr. Bungle's albums.
I discovered the band and wanted to buy their albums, but I had to leave with my family for a vacation in California. I ended up buying the albums while we were vacationing there and listened to them almost religiousley. The long car rides to get each place gave me alot of time to listen. Every time I listened to the band, I liked them more and more.

All of Hella's albums.
Like Mr. Bungle, it wasn't just one particular album, its the entire band. This band got me into even more Noisy, experimental and mathy rock.

5-1 are albums that got me through the tough times in my life and made me feel like everything was going to be okay and 10-6 are more like the albums that shaped my taste in music.

10. Come On Feel The Illinoise!- Sufjan Stevens
9. Alligator- The National
8. Black Sheep Boy- Okkervil River
7. Silent Alarm- Bloc Party
6. Boys and Girls In America- The Hold Steady
5. The Creek Drank The Cradle- Iron & Wine
4. Either/Or- Elliott Smith
3. The Sunset Tree- Elliott Smith
2. Tonight- Jason Anderson
1. Yellow Demo- Tegan and Sara

10. Nickelback - All the Right Reasons
This album was a favourite of mine back in the day takes me back to when I was younger. Most of the songs on the album are easy to sing along to and the lyrics are really creative in some songs. Not all aha.

9. The Cardigans - Super Extra Gravity
I love the whole theme about this album (and some of the music videos) The artwork is beautiful but aside from that the album would really touch my heart when I was going through a rough time in my life the song "Loosing a friend" felt like I had a friend and cheered me up whilst I'd channel some aggression and work out to the haunting-upbeat track "GoRABpell".

8. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
This album deserves to be put on here it is one of few that I cannot fault which I can't.

7. Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy
Before the album came out I was quite sceptical about what sound they would go for but I enjoy the album quite alot now I've listened to it a few more times. I love the song "Sorry" it's awesome it helped me become slightly stronger person.

6. Velvet Revolver - Contraband
This album is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. The fast and the beautiful really change whatever mood you're in when you listen to Contraband. "Loving The Alien" is a favourite of mine.

5. Dananananaykroyd - Hey Everyone
What a name well the music really makes up for it only had this album for a while but it seems quite good it's different and has a fresh sound.

4. Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid
I love this album it's filled with everything you could want from Alice I love to put "Snakebite" whenever I'm getting ready to go out. Alice Cooper's voice is out of this world.

3. TV On the Radio - Dear Science
My friend suggested this album to me he said its quite relaxing and chilled out sort of music so I gave it a try and was stunned at just the genious of some of the lyrics "DLZ" is atomic I think this band will go far.

2. Lily Allen - It's Not Me It's You
Lily shows her new path of music she has gone down much more sophisticated and disco-like without leaving her original style. Lily cleverly makes great music whilst also giving a message to anyone who listens to it. "Everyone's At It" is an amazing dance song yet doesn't have silly half-thought of lyrics.

1. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!
I don't know how much longer I could've gone without mentioning this album. Much like Lily the YYY's have grown within their music and chose a new path to go down without losing their amazing style. The album lifts my mood whenever I feel bad about something "Zero" or "HeaRAB Will Roll" take me away from whatevers happening. I cannot fault this album at all. I love it.
