Ok..I'll give it a try:
1. The Archies (Everything's Archie) - Has to be #1 as they are the only band to have multiple U.S. Top 40 hits. Favorite songs: Sugar, Sugar, Everything's Archie, Bang-Shang-a-Lang, Jingle Jangle
2. Gorrilaz - Not from a show but a series of music videos. Most challenging music every produced from a cartoon band with equally interesting videos. Favorite songs: Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc., Dare
3. Dethklok (Metalocalypse) - Although I don't care for the show they are spawned from, I can't deny their popularity. Can't say I know much about their music, though. Favorite songs: ?
4. The Chipmunks (The Alvin Show, Alvin and the Chipmunks) - Earliest successful cartoon band, spawning a show in the early '60s. Favorite songs: The Christmas Song, Witch Doctor, Boys of Rock 'n Roll
5. Josie and The Pussycats (Josie and the Pussycats/Josie and the Pussycats in Space) - Cartoon band with probably the best theme song of all. Boys spent much time deciding between Josie, Melody, or Valerie. Group included future Charley's Angel Cheryl Ladd. Favorite songs: Josie and the Pussycats Theme, ?
6. Bedrock Rockers (Flintstone Comedy Show) - Group included the teenaged Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm and their friends from the 1971 Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. Good music videos and perhaps the best songs every recorded for a cartoon band. Favorite songs: Summertime Girl, Bein' With You, What's Your Sign?
7. Jem and the Holograms (Jem) - One band from the excellent 80's animated series. Their songs were upbeat and at times romantic. Part of the show's magic. Favorite songs: Truly Outrageous (Jem theme), When It's Only Me and the Music, ?
8. The Misfits (Jem) - The other band from the 80's series. Meant to be the "edgy" band of the show, their songs were more punk and new wave than the Holograms'. Favorite songs: Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, ?
9. The Crescendolls (Interstella 5555) - Band from the feature film featuring the music of French duo Daft Punk and the art of Japanese manga and anime artist Leiji Matsumoto (Space Cruiser Yamato, Captain Herlock). Some film sequences were released as very popular music videos. Favorite songs: One More Time, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Aerodynamic.
10. The Cattanooga Cats (The Cattanooga Cats) - "Hippie" band from the 1969 Hanna-Barbera show. The musical segments were colorful and heavily influenced by the psychedelic opt-art of the day. Favorite songs: ?
