10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime? [Read first 2 Po
first off the anime that I love
1. One Piece- The characters, plot, and story arcs are just so addicting at times it keeps me on the edge of my seat for hours and hours plus the characters are very appealing and the villians were made out very great, theres so much emotion, humor, romance, action, adventure, and a whole lot more genres mixed into it I just don't know where to start.
2. Full Metal Panic- Similar to One Piece the story, plot, and characters are all very great, the mecha fight scenes so well choregraphed, the mysterious Lambda Driver, and Kaname Chidori. Plus the music just plain rocks
3. King of Braves GaoGaiGar- Has everything a good sentai-like mecha show should have including a kick-ass character with a mechanical body, and bad-ass bad guys such as pizza and the lovely enchanteress of the four machine generals. Dekaranger looks like you got some competition.
4. Samurai Champloo-Mugen I'll just say this he plain rocks and the animation stunning, fight scenes so well done it makes me want to drool and fall of the edge of my seat.
5. Mahou Sensei Negima-Ken Akamatsu's latest works its shaping up to be one of my favorites so far unlike love hina not a single thread was skipped, the story innovating, and the characters with great emotion.
6. Transformers Galaxy Force- One of the best Gonzo produced animes ever this surpasses even Superlink in emotion, characters, Megatron's bad-assness, and the new Starscream.
7. Trigun- Leave no strings attached this is one great Gunfight anime with Vash the Stampede and his wacky humor involved so I say this Draw Varmit!
8. Lupin the III- Classic, humorus with an original plot of Arsene Lupin Running from the detective Zenigata non-stop fun that had me rolling in my seat for hours and hours.
9. Kikaider- Ishinomori's classic tale of an Android who wanted to be human almost brought me to tears after just finishing the run, poor Jiro.
10. Cowboy Bebop- Do I really have to explain myself on this
What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?
Welllll..
10. Girls Bravo- I was laughing the first episode of this series, and didn't really stop, I loved this series..the first season anyway.. Can't wait for next season..First one was great..I mean how can't ya love a guy being with girls anime when the guy is afraid of girls..well yeah, that rounds off my top 10.
9. Aishiteru ze Baby-
Yuzuyu and Kippei had great chemistry..It made out to be a fun story, the only thing..yuzuyu crying and hugging kippei at the end got tiresome..oh well though. It was worth it since I liked the story quite a bit. Leaves it open for a sequel..or a continuation of some sort.
8. Full Metal Panic-
I loved this series, I can't wait for the continuation of it..The Second Raid. Sousuke and Kaname just make me mad though not admitting they like one another, so irritating..But it'll come soon enough, I'm happy enough to wait.
7. Ah! My Goddess-
Good OAV and Movie..I'm just waiting for the series..glad it's comin out soon..wooo. Can't wait. Just a few more days. I have the manga, just haven't gotten a chance to read it..some time I'll get to it..just not now.
6. Neon Genesis Evangelion-
Kinda got me into watching anime actually, a friend let me borrow it..it was good. Crazy but good, after seein all the movies that have came out after I'm not sure what happened but I liked it.
5. Elfen Lied-
This was a dramatic horror series..I liked it quite a bit, Lucy was insane in this, and the ending was rather good..You don't wanna screw with the Diclonus..Well, this was good.
4. Love Hina-
This kept me gripped the whole series through wanting to know what'll happen..seeing as I watched the series first..which I'm glad I did, cause most people who read the manga first were disappointed with the series..But I read the manga afterward, it was great, and the series was damn good too, despite what most think.
3. Naruto-
I just like how Naruto and everyone progresses throughout this anime, gets better, deals with obstacles. I watched this durin the summer..I watched 1-92 in a week..that was a blast..but I was so mad I had to wait for the next episode.
2. Grand Teacher Onizuka-
This story is pretty funny, Onizuka's a badass, music's good, just a fun story. Believable, as well..to an extent. Also can somewhat relate to some of the kids' problems and non-trust.
1. Full moon Wo Sagashite-
I just love how this story developed for some reason and just liked how it went along..and the music rocked..and the ending was awesome..kept me wantin more..til the very end..and then didn't disappoint, what more can ya ask for..I love the OSTS and I wanna read the manga..haven't got a chance to.
Honorable Mention to Dears, Chobits, Hellsing, and Trigun(subbed, not dubbed) Cowboy Bebop was great too, Beck..too many to list, I'm just too tired right now to think of somethin to say about 'em..
I can't think of the top ten Anime I like so here's the top five.
1.Full Metal Panic:
This is one of those series that everyone can love. It's got action, romance(sort of), and comedy. I love the robot designs and the action sequences are superb. The character development is great and doesn't take half the series.
2.Last Exile:
I have only seen the first nine episodes of this series but am already in love with it. The designs of everything from the ships to the guns is mind blowing. GONZO went all out for this one. The story rocks and I like how the main characters learn during the attacks and how they change during the series. I also like this anime so much because I am somewhat of a plane lover and it's not often that I see an anime with such good references to airplane problems.
3.Cardcaptor Sakura:
I have seen about the first thirty or so episodes and fell in love with it. I am a little biased when it comes to this anime because it was the first one I ever saw. I enjoyed this series because it had all sorts of magical creatures in it with really cool fight scenes. The main character was also really cute and I immediatly fell in love with her. The story was really fun to watch and follow plus I can show it to some of my younger friends without worrying about the content.
4.Naruto:
I like this series so much because of the fight scenes and the way Naruto and the other learn new attacks and use them in combat. The story could be better but it is funny and enjoyable to watch with your friends. There have been some instances where we would bet how many moves it would take one of the characters to win against their opponent. I like all the new moves that the story artists come up with and explain what each move entails when it is used.
5.Love Hina:
This is an awesome series because of the humor and the love story woven into it. The characters are all interesting and make it a joy to watch. One of the things that I noticed in this anime is that they have a hot spring in the dorms. Most other anime have one or two episodes where the characters take a trip to a hot spring but never do they have a hot spring at their immedite dissposal. With the love triangle between Keitaro, Naru, and Mutsumi this series keeps you guessing who Keitaro will end up with until the very end.
What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?
Top 10 Favorite Anime
1. Boogiepop Phantom- This is an anime I like watching in a dark room with surround sound. The eerie music and dull colors set up a nice atmosphere for the show. I find most of the individual stories interesting and how (most) of them tie in with each other. The non linear episodes are a nice touch as well. It makes for something different and forces you to pay attention. Because you definitely need to pay attention. This is a series where I would recommend reading the books first. Especially now that Boogiepop at Dawn has been released stateside. You don't need to, and even I started it without any previous knowledge of the franchise. However, reading the books helped explain some things and increased my overall enjoyment when I re-watched the anime.
2. Cowboy Bebop- Not much I can say that already hasn't been said about Bebop. Great animation, action, a superb jazzy soundtrack by the legendary Yoko Kanno, and some well done voice acting especially by the english cast. The only real complaint I have is, in terms of entertainment value, the one shot episodes vary in quality. Overall though it's one of the best shows of its kind.
3. Ebichu- As far as crude humor goes, this show takes the cake. Sex jokes abound, and enough hamster pummeling to send PETA into a frenzy. The highlight of the series is the Ebichuman episodes, where the cute little hamster turns into a superhero and solves peoples sexual problems. Need I say more?
4. Berserk- The biggest thing keeping this from a masterpiece rating is the ending, or lack thereof. Couldn't they just have included the *End of the series SPOILER*
Skull Knight, and the part where he saves Guts at the very end?
At the very least it would have explained how Guts got out of an impossible situation and tie it in to the first episode. Aside from that it's a very solid story. Lots of action, gore, and some supernatural elements make for some eerie foreshadowing.
5. Monster - This is certainly the best mystery anime I've ever seen, 74 episodes of more plot twists and shocking revelations than you can shake a stick at. It's a pretty long series, but there's plenty of characters (several of whom have their own arcs) to keep things interesting. It's hard to find one not to like. I rather enjoy then animation too, as the characters aren't all "sexified" like how they are in so many other anime nowdays. Also, this is one of the few series that proves anime has the potential to surpass its manga counterpart. The story follows the manga almost exactly, however it uses what animation can bring to the story: sound, motion, and color to strengthen it. Kudos to Madhouse for doing such a great adaptation.
6. Black Lagoon - This is the best action anime I've seen thus far. It blends in fast paced Hollywood-esque action, bad ass babes, superb animation, and reference packed, well written dialog extremely well. Hell, even when things slow down the character interactions are a joy to watch (especially between Rock and Revy). And to top it all off, the quality remains consistent in every respect! This is definitely a must see for any action fan.
7. Last Exile - I'll start by saying the animation is excellent. While some may not like the CG, it blends in well enough as to not to be distracting. The battles are very impressive, which include some of the best dogfights I've seen since Macross Plus. I also like how they added the concept of chivalry and airship battles are conducted similarly to how naval battles were centuries ago. The characters were hit-or-miss for me, some being interesting (Moran, Delfine, Dio), and others being fairly typical fare (Claus, Tatiana, Alex) . I'd like to note that Delfine makes for a rather stereotypical villain, but she plays her part so well she's far from being dull. Overall the story really had an epic feel to it, and Gonzo did a good job of creating a world you can easily become immersed in. Bonus points for actually having a conclusive ending!
8. Mushi-shi - Along with Monster, this is another series that uses the strengths of animation to improve the story. The most notable is the use of color, especially the use of green! The thing that suprised me most about Mushi-shi, is that it manages telling a complete story in a twenty minute time frame extremely well. It's doesn't feel rushed, and even though everything is laid-back, from the opening song to the pace of the story, it doesn't drag. I can't say enough about the voice acting either, it's simply superb. Definitely recommended for someone who likes a more subdued drama anime with good storytelling.
9. Mononoke - I absolutely love the unique animation style of this show! It was a little jarring at first, but it quickly grew on me. The exorcist fighting evil spirits isn't anything new, but the stories do an excellent job of grabbing your attention and keep you wondering what's going to happen.
10. Hellsing Ultimate - The OVA's aren't even close to done, but it's highly unlikely they will stray off course. As of now, well, it's closely following the manga therefore it simply oozes style. Vampires? Check. Nazis? Check. Badass priest? Check. Psychotic anti-hero? Check. Tons of fighting between all of the above, complete with loads of gore and maniacal laughter? Check. Sound cool? Well, IT IS!
Top 5 Least Favorite
1. Reign: The Conqueror- My opinion is basically the same as Kourin's...
First was the historical accuracy...or the lack there of rather, but the main thing was the animation. *gag*
2. Kikaider- Full of goofy looking characters, predictable plot, bad animation, and lots of panning. Enough with the freakin' panning!
3. .Hack//Roots- I only made it about 5 episodes in. Dear lord it's boring. Nothing happens! The main character just wanders around and talks to people. Not even the conversations are interesting in the least. Sure, it sounded like it might build up to something mildly intriguing, but I don't want to wait another 10 episodes for something to happen.
4. Tekken: the movie- Horrible fight scenes, animation and story (it is based off of a fighting game after all), and yet it tries so hard to pass off as being cool.
5. Kaidohmaru- I think this had the potential to be good, but in the end it suffered greatly by being far too short, nor did I know what the hell was going on.
EDIT: Decided to make some changes/additions. Its been awhile since I first made the list.
What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?
wow.... this is a tough question, but i think it's good to actually sit and think about it...
10 Top Favourites (not in any particular order...)
1.) Fullmetal Alchemist
This anime just hooked me from the minute i started watching it. It was funny and had a lot of drama. The quality of animation was VERY pleasing to the eye and I really liked the concept for the plot. It was like nothing else I'd seen and was refreshing in a way.
2.) Neon Genesis Evangelion
For an almost 10-year old anime, it keeps me coming back over and over again. I just love watching it to try and piece together plot points that I never noticed before. With the addition of the director's cut episodes and the movies, it makes a lot of the story fit together better, but also brings up more questions.
It's an anime that really makes you think and I don't think I could ever get tired of it.
3.) Sailor Moon
This is a sentimental favourite for me. It's a standard magical girl anime that I used to watch when they showed the old DiC dubs on Cartoon Network. I just loved the characters and found it to be an amusing anime. I was extremely happy when ADV released the first 2 seasons uncut and in Japanese. I was finally able to see the anime the way it was meant to be seen.
4.) Fushigi Yuugi
Another sentimental favourite because this was the first anime I had ever seen in Japanese with subtitles. It introduced me to what anime could be, with intriguing story, a large cast of characters, good music, and other things that I had never seen on any other animated program before.
5.) Cowboy Bebop
This anime stood out in its animation quality and plot to me. It was realistic enough but also included some slight deformity that made it funny. The characters were well-built in their personality and the background information that you were given helped show how they got the way that they were.
This is the only anime that I can watch in English. I feel that the English dub for Bebop is much better then the Japanese dub.
The soundtrack was a favourite of mine. The mix of jazz in with all of the other styles really showed the range of Yoko Kanno's talents.
6.) Last Exile
This anime was a wonderful blend of 2D and 3D animation. Gonzo really outdid themselves with the involved plot that the audience was thrown right into. The cast of characters were enjoyable, with many different personalities among them all. The voice cast was great, too. I enjoyed the music a lot. I liked the classical style to it, with violins and many other instruments.
The end of the anime made me cheer (one specific event in particular but I don't want to spoil it for anyone).
7.) Fruits Basket
A different take on a shoujo anime, Fruits Basket was something different that I enjoyed greatly. The curse idea that made the characters turn into animals when hugged by a member of the opposite sex was great.
Furuba has a wondeful cast of characters that kept me entertained. There was a lot of comedy, some romance, and some dark drama that kept you watching to see what was going to happen next.
Unfortunately, I thought the ending of the anime was horrible, but overall I really loved Furuba.
8.) Peacemaker Kurogane
I've heard a lot of people say that they don't like this anime, but I really enjoy it. I love the cast of characters. They keep the anime interesting with all of the humor and drama. There are a lot of backgrounds that have yet to come out, but I'm sure that they will. I am really interested to see where this one goes, because I've only seen up to episode 12.
I love the ending theme song.
Saizo the pig is great, too. ^_^
9.) Trigun
I had started watching this anime a few years ago, but I had never gotten the chance to finish it after only watching the first 2 DVDs.
I just got the chance to buy and finish watching it over the summer and I thought it was great. I never realized how well put together the plot was and how great the anime was.
Yes, it's an older anime, but it's still a good one. I love Vash and all of his quirks and I like the music, too. It's another anime with a lot of comedy and drama that keeps you wanting more.
10.) Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex
After seeing the movie, I was curious to see the SAC series. I was pleasently surprised to see how well the animation had come along since the movie. The same seiyuu were involved and the character's personalities were the same.
The plot makes you think a lot, trying to fit all of the pieces together. I can't wait to see the conclusion of the Laughing Man case and see what's really going on with it.
Another soundtrack by Yoko Kanno that is pleasing to the ears.
I love how there isn't one main character and how all of the characters are involved in different degrees throughout the series.
5 Worst Anime (in my opinion)
1.) Reign the Conquerer
Absolutely hated it. I couldn't follow the plot, I felt the whole show was totally meaningless. I didn't like the character designs, I felt that they were too thin and skeletal looking. I just felt that the plot didn't stay constant and didn't make any sense. It went totally away from the historical story of Alexander the Great. I mean, people take creative liberties with some stories, but this was a little rediculous.
2.) Yu-Gi-Oh
A show totally made for selling the card game. Nothing else. The dub is horrible, I don't like the animation. I think that a show about people playing cards is boring. I just couldn't get into it. Plus, the dubbed version was made for younger children which automatically makes it bad.
3.) The Dragon Ball Series
Why does it take 30 episodes for someone to get from point A to point B? Why does it take another 30 episodes for a person to charge up an attack? Why does it take 30 episodes for a fight to end?
The character designs are horrible. The plot is horrible. The animation is horrible. The dub is horrible. Period.
4.) Saiyuki
I love the manga Saiyuki but when I saw the anime, I was VERY disappointed. The dub wasn't great. I didn't like what they did with the character designs when taken from the manga to the anime. I didn't like the style of animation that was used. I love the seiyuu, but I didn't care for the job that they did with the Saiyuki boys.
I also thought that a lot was lost in plot from the manga to the anime and that made it hard to follow for me.
5.) Pilot Candidate
I just couldn't get into this series. The CG wasn't integrated at all, it just stood out. It took away from the plot that was trying to form. I think the series was far too short, compared to the manga at least. I think they could've done a much better job with this series.[/b]
Flou, why don't you write reasons like you did in another (albeit resurrecting) post? Look at posts before yours; everyone had written reasons for their most and least favorite anime titles.

What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?
I've actually never read the stickies before because they were too long. Usually when I start reading a thread I have to read the whole thread. So reading 8 pages can take quite a while. I finally decided to read through tonight and thought that most people here have the same opinions I do (and some that don't :wink. There are even some animes that I have never even heard of that I may look into.
For my Favourites I will list the ones I own (all 8 of 'em) as they are my favourite animes as of now. I'd just like to add that none of these animes are better than the other. I love them all equally. Also, in each of these animes, the music is also one of the main reasons why I love each of these series.
Heat Guy J - I bought this anime without having any idea what it was about or if it was any good. I saw a preview of it on another Pioneer DVD. The preview was actually the opening theme. I must say I am so glad that I picked it up. The artwork, the music (that opening theme is very 80's rock), the characters, and the story were just fantastic.
Witch Hunter Robin - I missed the first run of the show on Adult Swim. During it's second run, AS didn't show it past the 7th episode, as I remember. Over the next few months I rewatched and re-rewatched those few episodes and just couldn't get it out of my head. When the complete collection became available I just had to grab a copy. I am glad I did. The story is very touching for such a darkly animated show. I enjoyed every second of the it.
Last Exile - I saw eps 9-12 on Tech TV, about the time when they were about to show the rest of the series, and decided to buy the complete collection when it came out just a few weeks later. Each episode is very connected and so there are only a few episodes that you can really just jump into and know what's going on. The series just kept on building on itself and it was such an emotional ending. There were many moments throughout the series where I teared up. I'm glad I bought this series!
Cowboy Bebop - The anime series that started it all for me. I caught the first run on AS and never looked back. The best part of the series is the music. And most of the songs, including the ep titles, have such great names.
Neon Genesis: Evangelion - After I had watched Bebop a few hundred times, I figured it was time to find another anime. This was the first one I bought. Like Heat Guy J I bought this without ever seeing a single episode. However, unlike J, I bought the entire series without even seeing a preview. I just bought it. I loved the opening theme to NGE, but just could not get into the series. I was more fond of Gendo then Shinji. After viewing the series I put it away for a while, vowing never to watch it again. However, I brought it out last year and just loved it. It was like I was watching a whole new anime. Now, like all the other animes I have, I bring this one out every once in a while and watch an episode or two.
Trigun - I found the idea of insurance agents tracking a mysterious, but deadly, bounty head down very intriguing. It reminded me of Bebop. It was very refreshing when I saw how everyone really saw Vash when they got to know him. Those who don't know him think he's the most dangerous man on the planet. Those who know him know he's just a bumbling idiot. Well,
actually a man who has walked a very hard road
, but that doesn't come out until later.
Ghost in the Shell (1995 movie) and the Stand Alone Complex series - I've throughly enjoyed the series so far and was very glad to see Motoko, Batou, Togusa, Aramaki, and Ishikawa again. The series is just as strong as the movie it's based on. While I feel the 1995 movie could have been longer, I was impressed by how philosophical it was.
Fullmetal Alchemist - I must admit I hated this series when I first saw it. But I kept on taping it, since it airs before GitS:SAC on AS, and went from hating it, to being on the wall, to loving it so much that I have begun to collect the series. I'm glad it's just as long as GitS:SAC. I love the way Ed has had to grow up so quickly and learn that everything is not as it seems to be.
Two series that I have not watched, but have seen that other people like are The Twelve Kingdoms and Gungrave (also because Yasuhiro Nightow created the series). I will not watch the latter until the entire series comes out on DVD, but I will be watching the former series very soon, as I have just obtained all ten of the DVDs.
Well, this post is long enough so I'll just mention one series I do not like:
Noir - I've only seen the series up to ep 5, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I just had such a problem with the fact that Mirielle
said she'd kill Kirika when she found out the truth, but I just felt that wasn't going to happen, that in the end they'd be close friends. Plus, if she wanted to find the truth, why not just kill her and see what happens. Eventually, someone was bound to search her out and find out why she killed Kirika.
While it may not be the same, I read a full recap of each episode of the entire series and
I don't understand the fact that Kirika was crying because she says she couldn't feel sorry for the people she killed. Well, if she's crying, doesn't that means she feels something? I just didn't understand that. Reading the rest of the recaps I just could picture how the each episode went and didn't feel the series was any good.
Finally, trained assassins killing people and hardly any blood is shown. That really turned me off.
I suppose someday I will watch this series all the way through and maybe change my mind, but for now Noir makes my list of anime I do not like.
What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?
Hey all, I'm quite new to the forum. Heres one fave and why. (sorry can't list alot)
1. Cowboy Bebop!
I could not wait to see Spike fight, nor could I wait to see how Jet helped. I couldnt wait for Ed to go "Weeeeee" or for Ein to go "Bark Bark!" Everything is one fluid episode, or two. The theme is second to none. I remember watching nearly every episode in a two week span and after that searching the internet finding an collage of Spikes storyline all done to the Beetle's(or was it Paul's) song "Yesterday" and having that as the final homage to this great series. Beautiful, exciting, fluid and super-fun.
What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?
NO MORE TOP 10! I don't wanna delete anymore
GetBackers
Two idiots who kick ass with awesome supoer powers try to get stuff back. Lots of fun, beware of the ending
Outlaw Star
While it definitely falls short from the greatness of Cowboy Bebop, I have always prefered Outlaw Star simply because of it's pure entertainment. The cast is cool containing EVERY SINGLE anime sterotype there is, the animation is cool, the original ship design is second to none. Formula done correctly. Just a fun watch
Midori no hibi
Can't say I wasn't shocked, but this was just a funny damn show with a cute gimmick romance. Exactly what I was looking for when I watched it for he first time. The manga is even better, so the anime might be a little short, it's still full of fun laughs
Great Teacher Onizuka
What's not to like about it? The animation might seem a bit dated, but the series is just so damn funny and dramatic at the same time. Onizuka is another one of the enternal anime characters. I mean, he's a gangster who wants to be the ebst teacher on the Earth which seems like the most respectable goal of any anime character. But not only that, he always looks for the best qualities in even the most rotton people and brings it out, which is basically what the anime is about.....aside from him finally getting laid. Adventures are fun, but kinda fall short when compared to Azumanga Daioh. The manga is SO much better than the show as well...and I do mean a LOT LOT better
Naruto
Gonna have to disagree with those who say that this is the next Dragon Ball Z and that it drags way to much. I never find myself thinking "this fight should have been over long ago." Unlike DBZ, the fights are original and each character has their own unique moves, so it's great when seeing the outcome of matches between original abilities. Plus, most of character development (something else DBZ lacks severely) come from the fights. We learn everything there is to know about Shikamaru (my favorite character), Hinata, Neji, Rock Lee, Kiba, Gaara, Sasuke, Naruto, and the entire cast. There are very few characters who are just tacked on, and the series is far from over so I bet we will get our development on these characters.....more specifically Shino and TenTen. The music is FLAWLESS and very enjoyable, the animation can range from decent to "LIEK WHOAMG." But never do I find myself thinking "when the hell is this going to be over" like I did all the time in DBZ.
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop is a great show. Just like Samurai Champloo, it has awesome attitude, great animation and action, and fun characters. What I like more about Champloo though is it's awesome setting. Feudal Japan is much more interesting than space travel. Other than that, the two series are alsmost identical.....a group of traveling weirdos always on the look for money while trying to accomplish the goal of getting to the next day. Both have their humorous episodes and their series and deeply philosophical episodes. I also liked the characters in Champloo a bit more also. Jin is my favorite character. He's always so cold on top, but you can always tell something is bugging him beneath that is just dieing to get out. Mugen is obviously just a free spirit with a rough past (carbon copy of Spike.....he even LOOKS like him) and Fuu is a fun damsel also. The action is top notch for a samurai series, but none of the fights really match up to Kenshin vs Saitoh in Rurouni Kenshin. But they get the job done. The animation also seems a bit more simple that Cowboy Bebop, but it fits the anime better
Golden Boy
Kintaro is my hero. He insults traditional education right into it's face by saying "I don't need you" and hits the road simply learning about life. Through the vast amounts of potty humor, there is just great depth to this series that I can't help but love. The many adventures of Kintaro showing all of his sides are just so enjoyable and damn funny as well.
Trigun
It's just that good. For what the series falls short on character (only 3 characters are memorable: Vash, Wolfwoof, and Legato) it makes up for in plot, drama, action, and humor being almost a perfect blend of them all. Plus the original setting makes it even better. Not only that, but the transition between the dramatic episodes and the funny episodes is just so perfect that you sometimes don't even know it happens. I'm reading the manga right now for the first time...interesting =/
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
I was really excited when I heardl about this series. I thought Full Metal Panic! was a decent series. It was very funny at times, and the high school episodes were some of the funiest I have seen. But it also had it's dramatic and action episodes, and t hey were actually kind of lame. This is why I LOVE Fumoffu. It has everything I liked about FMP! and nothing of what I hated about FMP! It's one of the funniest animes ever also. My personal favorites are the Rugby episode and the Bonta-kun army episode
His and Her Circumstances
I absolutely LOVE this series. I heard it was really good, so I'm glad I took a glance at it. The characters are all well fleshed out and it is a perfect blend of humor, drama, and romance. The animation isn't really impressive, but it's just so...refreshing for some reason. It's simple but really fun to watch. The facial expressions and artwork is done very well. And every cast member is just very gripping and so well developed. Yukino has quickly jumped to my second favorite anime girl (right after Osaka from Azumanga Daioh). My other favorite character in the show is Hiro Miyazawa, Yukino's father...he's awesome and his and his wife's past is probably the most emotional development I have seen in an anime. The relationship between him and his wife is OUTSTANDING. This series is just so smart and touching...a REAL relationship story. I was looking for one of these
Kino's Journey
THIS is my kinda series. WOW! I'm shocked...blown away. I saw episode 2 at Otakon one year and I thought it looked interesting, but I never got to it. Thanks to ADV and their recent kindness with thin packs, I got this dirt cheap, and it was worth every penny, and every penny I would have paid for each individual DVD. The series is completely episodic, even moreso than Cowboy Bebop, and each episode is so meaningful. The characters Kino runs into are intriguing, and you feel sad when something happens to them you don't want to. Some episodes make you feel uplifted, some make you feel like crap, and some leave you wondering what you're supposed to think...give this series a go. I promise it won't let you down
Last Exile
I head great things about this. By far the best animation you'll find in a TV show, and it has the characters and storyline to back it up. Great atmosphere with awesome music, and everything. It's an amazing show and the last 10 episodes are so heartpounding and ecxiting...it's awesome
Crest/Banner of the Stars
I really like how this series is paced. It's slow and allows a LOT of character development, and at the same time there is still a great sense of urgency. And the last few episodes of each series is on the edge. The characters are great. Lafiel is a very intriguing character as she is such a hardass, but when she meets Jinto she slowly begins to change and it's obvious that she is questioning her upbringing. And Jinto has promised to stay by this girls side because he's in love with her and he's trying to get her to say it. Outside of the two great protaganists, I also REALLY like Beneej Spoor, just because she's so much fun to watch. The final battle of Banner of the Stars is also probably the most destructive and awesome space battles you will EVER witness...and the end of Banner of the Stars 2
made me cry when Lafiel was finally reunited with Lafiel...wow that was an amazing scene
Definitely the best anime sci-fi series there is
Azumanga Daioh
More animes should be like this. The simplicity of this anime is what makes it great. There is no outstanding plot or conflict, just the great characters going through everday life in high school through their crazy adventures. This is an anime that you just want to watch again the second you are done with it.
FuriKuri
I love the originality to this, that's about it. The creative way of storytelling and delivering themes and life lessons about coming of age through such insanity is sheer genius. The characters are cool also and the animation is some of the best out there
Rurouni Kenshin
While definitely not the BEST anime series on the face of the planet, it is my favorite. It without a doubt has it's flaws like the last 35 episodes of the series and some of the episodes in the first arc of the series. But the strengths of this series definitly outweigh the weaknesses. First of all, this series is absolutely second to none when it comes to character development. Every character down to the most minor of minor badguys has a history and a reason for why they are fighting, so none of the characters are wasted. And of course this anime has my absolute favorite character in the history of the PLANET, that being of course Kenshin Himura. I have yet to come across a character who is as loveable and inspiring as this guy. He simply sets the bar way to high. Of course the series has cool action (one of animes best fights EVER: Kenshin vs Saitoh), decent animation, great music, and a decent plot, but the defining aspect of this anime is it's characters which makes it my favorite.....and yes, the manga is MUCH better. And I'm like one of the only fans I know of who prefer the dub for this anime mainly because I LOVE Kenshin's english VA and HATE Kenshin's Japanese VA......ugh, sends shivers up my spine

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?
The Good (Not counting series I haven't finished yet):
1. Hellsing:
I don't normally go for the horror genre of anime but this one was just great. Lots of action, great characters, and music as well.
2. Cowboy Bebop:
Bounty hunters, sci-fi, comedy, drama this show has it all and then some. Very well done and entertaining.
3. Noir:
I really enjoyed this one it had me from the first episode with the great storyline and music.
4. Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars I and II:
Being a big sci-fi fan and enjoying stuff like Star Trek, Star Wars and B5, I found this series to be very good but not very well recieved by most anime fans. Great story and characters.
5. S-CRY-ed:
I began looking into this one after seeing a promo for it on one of my other DVD and it turned out to be a pretty darn good series, well worth the effort.
6. Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040:
The other BGC series are good as well but this one is the best in my opinion. Great storyline and interesting characters, with a hard rockin' techno soundtrack.
7. Vision of Escaflowne:
An interesting blend of the fantasy genre and mecha. Entertaining to the last, with more plot twists than you can shake a stick at.
8. Anything in the Gundam Universe(s):
...and there's plenty to choose from as well. For the most part all good stuff, the only one that I've seen and didn't like was SD Gundam. Great storylines, usually complicated characters, and giant robots destroying things is always good.
9. ROD OAV:
Fun and fresh this one surprised me. It didn't sound very entertaining but turned out to be a blast.
10. Excel Saga:
Has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen, very clever. Makes fun of just about everything including many different types of anime.
Honorable mentions go to Last Exile, and Infinite Ryvius, which were both excellent, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Gungrave, and ROD The TV. The last three I haven't finished watching yet but am liking a lot so far.
The Bad
1. X: The Movie
Has to be the worst I've seen. Sure the animation was nice but the characters were very shallow and the storyline rushed and unsatisfyiing.
Fuma really had no motivation for becomming a villain either and the end was rather anti-climactic.
I did like the series though.
2. Reign: The Conqueror:
The storyline wasn't all that entertaining and being a guy I just find the animation style...disturbing. All the men looking like women and wearing speedos, no thanks.
3. Canidate for Goddess (Pilot Canidate):
Just plain boring, I mean noting of any interest happened, the plot went nowhere, and I don't think the series was ever completed.
4. Ninja Resurrection:
Didn't like it at all, it just seemed a be a pointless gross-out fest that never got finished off. It may sound simmiliar and have a main character with the same name but it's in no way releated to Ninja Scroll which was actually good.
5. Soul Taker:
I absolutely hated the animation style of this series, it made my eyes ache watching it, literally. Watching an anime should never be a physical strain. I just hate it when I can't tell what's going on. The plot didn't grab me either. So for ugliness and boredom I never bothered to tune in after the second episode.
What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?
hmmm let's see here's my top 10 favorites of all time
10. Full metal Panic, The Story was something you could get into with the character's with the wacky zany way of life plus the military style too it. also, lacked alittle in creativity.
9. Memories, was one of the best Anime movies I have seen in 5 years with the indepth story and Animation too add to the
awesomely great perspective to the story. but some people wanted a English Dub too it I was not the one that wanted one but my friends wanted to see the dub.
8. Yu Yu Hakusho, Has some of the best fighting sequence's in Anime today considering it's 12 year's old and has character's with varrying personalty's. but The story lacked alittle and seem's like sterotyping was all over the series.
7. Rurouni Kenshin, The series was fresh and orginal with the story of Kenshin back in his man-slayer day's turn's into a wandder by day really. But the series seemed to go to silly to series into an instant might turn some away from it.
6. Mobile Suit Gundam, The idea is still fresh today with memorable mech's and the rivalries between Char and Amauro.
It feels like the series is incomplete to this day even with the movie "Char's Counter Attack,".
5.Big O, One of my favorites and one of the many Anime's that confuse people today with great Animation, story and characters. Some people my find the Mech's too silly for their taste and the series left some unsolved questions too some people.
4.New Fist of the North Star, Nicly done by ADV considering it's a 3 part OVA series with great budget with for the Animation and voice acting. The Dub might turn alot of people off and fighting can be repeative at times.
3. Cowboy Bebop, Great idea of Bounty hunters in space with the old western style and with characters that have a purpose.
But Silll it's really over-rated with the wave of fans wanting a second season too it.
2. Last Exile, Is one of the most graphicly acclaimed series of all time with great story with character's. It might not please the people looking for violence in this one it's pure 100% clean fun.
1. Lupinthe3rd, One of my Favorite's of alllll time with the story and Idea of the concept in the 1960's was fresh and still is too this day with the characters you can fall in love with at the same time. The ANimation style might scar away people looking for a Graphic Anime.
I have no intention of putting my least favorites and I have yet to hate an Anime for any reason's and I don't intend too.
But please I praise these Anime's and give little warnings too people who might start to watch them and not like them I still like them but I point out the flaw's with out hating them.
Here's some Anime's I did not get to I like Also,
Captain Harlock
Robotech
G Gundam
Inuyasha
Akira
Full Metal Alcehmist.
What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?
Well you mustn't have read to well because Gungrave is my #3 anime just behind Hajime no Ippo and Berserk. Gungrave has great action and story. I love every part about it.
