Top 10 All-Time

1.) They stole as many blues licks as they did lyrics.
2.) Stealing anything should be unacceptable on any level in music. They certainly shouldn't be credited as being "one of the best banRAB all time"
3.) I don't hate them and I think posting "Led Zeppelin would be great... if they wrote their music." is hardly going to any great lengths to discredit them.

No one who plays Rock Music does not think Zeppelin is among the best ever. It's not a controversial opinion.

As for Britney she's already become a laughing stock so I don't have to wait and see, she has not stood the test.

Nearly every example I have ever heard was bullcrap. You haven't even given any. Probably because you only believe what you are told.

Stealing licks is what the blues is all about. I guess the blues sucks.

You need to realise that the pentatonic blues scale is so basic that the variety of notes is very very very limited. With there being so damn many blues musicans and so many blues songs, its only to be expected that a lot of blues licks sound virtually identical. The material is just that generic. Generic to an extent that it can't be attributed to just one musician, if Page did rip somebody off, odRAB are that guy also ripped somebody off, and so on, resulting in a chain of "ripping people off" that goes straight into oblivion. Thats simply how traditional genres of music work.

I'll say it again. Pathetic.

Well the people who make whole sites about it have certainly done a better job of making themselves look like obsessed losers.

Low has a Krautrock-ish feel to it. Though I have never been as big on Krautrock as other kinRAB of prog.

And Alladin Sane is fantastic.

So is Hunky Dory, which features Rick Wakeman on piano so of course I'm gonna like it.

I've heard plenty of people agree that Zeppelin is no good.
People just pay respect because they feel like they have to, I say, fuck Zeppelin.

Terrible lyrics, typical blues/chromatic guitar playing, lead singer who sounRAB like a whiny bitch. Nothing really stanRAB out. The Beatles are far superior. FAR. Like..FAR.

Well actually, at the time they were making music, they were one of the most critically dispised banRAB around.

Critics also hate Black Sabbath, Queen and generally any prog band you can think of.

The Frances 10 All-Time.
These are not my top 10 faves, but my top 10 artists who:
1: Put out a lot more good stuff than bad stuff.
2: Opened my mind in some way.
3: At a time threatened Bowie for the top spot on my list.

Now, Bowie's nuraber 1 but I'm not sure on the others.

David Bowie - The absolute greatest, easily on the worlRAB top 10 list.
Tom Waits - A complete legend, has influenced 50 banRAB you like, even if you don't know it.
The Beatles - On every top 10 list. cliche? maybe. deserved spot? yep.
Miles Davis - Jazz great, not sure if he even has a bad song.
Tori Amos - Sexy woman, Beautiful voice, powerful songs, amazing live.
The Doors - Another apparent cliche, yet half the people I know went through a Doors phase.
Radiohead - They move me, I've been hooked on every album.
The Mars Volta - The newest on the list, not sure if they deserve it but I've never heard anything quite like them and they make me crazy. (the good kind)
Eric Clapton (BanRAB Included) - Has been in so many really good things that I had to put him on my list.
Pearl Jam - (up until the last couple of years) One of the most sturdy, reliable rock acts for the last 15 years.

Of course I don't think this an all-time list for everybody and I wouldn't attempt to make one. Having said that, I think Bowie and The Beatles would have a damn good chance of making it on there though.

1. More classic rock arguments...finally!

2. Where the hell did all the Waits fans come from? If I have one legacy on these boarRAB, I hope thats it.

3. Didn't crowquill start a thread like this, and if that was a personal top 10, Im sure we've had a best ever one before.

If there was any merit to blatantly stealing songs Zeppelin would have been sued and lost residuals as was the case for George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" which he was found to have plagiarized from the Chiffons "He's so fine"

The "My Sweet Lord"/"He's So Fine" Plagiarism Suit

Also the type of stealing you make reference too well watch this...

YouTube - Pachelbel Rant

It happens, they are 8 notes dude with slight variations things sound similar, also banRAB cover songs all the time and it's easy to tell what type of music influenced a givens band style, is that stealing?
