Toonzone's Top 50 Animated Show Countdown!

It is indeed great to see both TMNT series on the list when I saw 80s TMNT was on there I was getting concerned that 2003 wouldn't get it's due especially with Superman already on the list among other great action shows. Way to go Turtles!

Well I'd consider One Piece higher but I'm content with it just being here as long as Naruto and Bleach or an number of other overrated anime aren't on the list. ;) But... Haruhi and Lucky Star? What is this? I don't even...

If Family Guy is #1 Imma break something but I'm expecting Futurama or The Simpsons to take that if not something considerably more vintage and timeless say... Looney Tunes.

Lol, I didn't know it was supposed to be in order. :p

Haha, it's okay though, 'cause mine was almost in order anyway. Shouldn't affect much.

#8 Looney Tunes*

If it hadn't been for the confusion over theatrical shorts, I believe that Looney Tunes would have been in the Top 5. Each and every character is original and fantastic. The show has always had amazing writing and created some of the biggest icons in the history of animation.

And by the way, I'm accepting early entries for rabroad's Top 50 Animated Movies. Top 10 only please, 20 animated movies will likely be a bit harder to come up with than shows. To be clear, both Anime movies and TV movies are allowed.

I loved Ren & Stimpy. Any fan of today's adult cartoons should be a fan of it as well. While it wasn't an adult toon, it pushed the envelope big time in a way that adults can love it as much as kids. It was like Tom & Jerry meets South Park.

Yes, nice to see Star Wars on there.

And I do like the 2D one better. Hence why I put it on my list rather then the 3D one.

Oh and did you see my last post where I asked you to see if you could consider my remaining 7 that I forgot to put on my initial PM?

Guess I was wrong - Looney Tunes made it even with all the confusion! Now that's impressive! I honestly never saw it myself....

And I'll PM you my Top Ten Animated Movie list. It's gonna be almost entirely Pixar, lol.

I knew the people at Toon zone would not fail me. #17 is good for TMNT2003 given what the other 16 shows will probably be I can't complain.

Anyway I doubt Family Guy will be number one. No Number one will be one of three shows, Looney Toons, The Simpsons, or Batman The Animated series.

I expect Simpsons to get that number 1 spot, but there are many contenders for the rest of the top 5. Family Guy, South Park, and Futurama should all be battling for second. Robot Chicken should pop up soon in the list.

Yay, Looney Tunes!

So, only seven to go. I would have to think that....

The Simpsons
South Park
Futurama
Family Guy
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Batman: The Animated Series

are DEFINITELY all in the top seven, which leaves the last spot up to either Dragonball Z or Spongebob Squarepants.

STILL hoping W.I.T.C.H. makes it in. What a horrible travesty if it totally misses the top 50. Actually it's a horrible travesty for two out of the trio of W.I.T.C.H., Dragonball Z, and Spongebob to miss the top 50 entirely, but at least the top seven are right, which is the most important thing.

Duck Tales RULED!!! Easily one of the best 90's cartoons :D

I hope Scooby Doo is in the Top 10, and Family Guy DOES NOT deserve number one at all. I like the show, but it's not the best toon of all time, not even objectively.

Never seen any of these, and I'm beginning to get nervous that Gargoyles isn't on here.... If it's not in the next bunch....

Say, The Cartoon, weren't you gonna do five a day now?

The ones I think could be in #1 (not based on my preferences): Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, BTAS, TSSM, or Scooby-Doo.
I doubt we'd see Futurama 'cause most Futurama fans, I've found, prefer Simpsons, though there's a lot of diversity, I've found, in terms of preference between Simpson, Family Guy, and South Park. Scooby-Doo could have an honest shot as well, though I'm not entirely certain it'll make it.... BTAS could easily make it, and maybe even TSSM - many people now prefer TSSM to BTAS (such as myself).

Others I expect to see in the Top Ten: FMA, JL(U), Futurama, maybe Batman Beyond.

Not to sound all grumpy and stuff, but im actually kinda not so glad that Looney Tunes showed up on the list. Not because i have anything against it, it's just that i think that if more people had known that theatrical shorts were allowed on the list (providing they have aired in their own programming blocks on TV, thus esentially being TV shows as well as theatrical films) then the Disney shorts would have shown up on the list as well. And since i personaly prefer the Disney shorts over the WB ones, it just kinda annoys me that the latter got a spot on the list but not the former... :/

Yep, it will be daily. But I'll go one at a time once I get to the Top 10.

#42 Ed, Edd, n Eddy

I never got into this show myself, my mom never wanted me watching it for some reason. But it had an original approach, good humor, and a long life so it's no surprise that it made the list.

#41 Kim Possible

Most Disney cartoons weren't great in the 21st century, but Kim Possible was a rare gem. The action genre has never interested me much, but this was a different case due to the good writing and characters.

#40 Spider Man: The Animated Series

I never saw this one myself, so I don't have anything to say about it really. But it does look great. I may check it out sometime in the future.

#39 Tom & Jerry*

Here's one that I think should be higher up. Tom & Jerry was one of the first great cartoons ever. It set the limits for cartoon violence and even though it lacked dialogue, the writing was fantastic because of all the situations that Tom and Jerry got themselves into. In addition, it is one of the very few classic cartoons or sometimes cartoons in general that absolutely anyone can be entertained by, even the people that don't like cartoons.

*Pending eligibility due to inclusion of theatrical shorts
