Well we don't know that, the PPG may appear latter on. By the Way Ren and Stimpy has already been on the list, and Beavis and Butthead is comfirmed not to be in the top ten either (it was posted as number 52 I believe).

Heh, well the fact that it's one of the newest shows on the list yet still made the top ten is pretty impressive, even if this is essentially a fan poll!

For the past few weeks, the members of rabroad have been sending me or posting their Top 10 or Top 20 favorite Animated Series ever. I have used all of their respective lists to come up with an average Top 50. The results are in and I think they are a great representation of the opinions of rabroad's community. I would like to thank everyone that took the time to include their lists:

I'll be doing four at a time until the Top 10. As for my opinion on this first set, I've seen all of them except for MoHS and all are great series. TDI is actually one of my very favorite shows on TV right now so I'm glad it made it. I actually expected the original TMNT to be up a bit higher. For Pinky & The Brain, that spot seems about right. I was never an avid fan myself, but I can easily see why so many people love it. And MoHS looks really good.

Co-Sign!! No way is W.I.T.C.H. worthy of being in the Top 10. Personally, I don't feel it belongs in the countdown at all, and since it hasn't been mentioned already then I doubt it will be.

It was rated too high if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I like what I've seen of the show but I feel that it hasn't been around long enough to warrant being the 9th best of all time. I'd take JL/JLU over this easily.

I'd have put TMNT higher, but I guess that's what I get for forgetting to nominate anything. Pinky and the Brain is about where it should be, I guess. Never seen Melancholy, so I can't comment on that. I'd have thought TDI/A would be higher, but I don't particularly care either way about that one.

Whether or not The Simpsons ends up taking the #1 spot in this countdown is irrelevant to me. The Simpsons is hands down the greastest cartoon I've ever seen in my life. What that show did during the 90's to change cartoons, and the run that it had during that decade, is something that I feel will never be duplicated.

How does length of the series have any correlation with greatness of the series? It's hit all the characterizations perfectly and become a more iconic representation of the character than even the comics themselves!

I'm just worried Family Guy will take the #1 spot. It doesn't deserve a place here.

Anyway, my comments:
DEATH NOTE! You are right, The Cartoon, it should not be surprising that Death Note made it, for it is amazing!!!!! It's my second-favorite anime, next to FMA (which I expect to see in the Top Twenty somewhere - maybe Top Ten! It made my Top Five!). But yeah, Death Note should've been higher.
HEY ARNOLD! Also should've been higher! I just watched the Monkey Man episode earlier today. Hey Arnold! is one of my favorite cartoons from childhood (along with Rugrats and Scooby-Doo - which will probably be in the Top Ten).
VENURE BROS! Good guess - it's a parody. A parody of superheroes! And it's actually done really well. Still haven't seen the new season, but yeah, the first two were great. It probably deserves about the place it got.

Turtles - one of my favourite shows as a kid; don't think I'd like it much now, but I'll always cut it some slack just for that reason.

Pinky and the Brain - very funny, but perhaps worked better in small doses among other segments in Animaniacs.

Melancholy of whatever - never seen.

Total Drama Island - what I've seen is pretty funny, even though the concept of aping a reality show seems a bit pointless. Well, it's better than Drawn Together at least.

W.I.T.C.H. may not be "worthy" (in my opinion it is, but whatever), but it is popular and I could definitely see it cracking the top 20.

Time for the Top 20. Out of all the lists, this is where the average one would start.

#20 DuckTales

This one was actually tied in points for Animaniacs so it was extremely close. But ties are broken by which one appeared on more lists and it was DuckTales. So it made the Top 20. I certainly don't mind because it is one of my favorite shows. Widely considered the best Disney Afternoon Show, it was very reminiscent of classic Disney and had great writing.

#19 Tiny Toon Adventures

Great to see this one get some love. It has actually been a while since I've seen it but I used to watch it all the time. A fantastic Looney Tunes spin-off with great characterization with both the originals and classics.

#18 Cowboy Bebop

I don't know a whole lot about this one other than that it is widely considered one of the best Anime series ever and often one of the best series in general at all.

#17 TMNT (2003)

Someone mentioned a while ago that they hoped this would crack the Top 20 and it did. No surprise, 166 episodes is a very rare feat to accomplish. I'm glad that both the 80's and 2003 version made the list because they were both great in their own ways.

I don't watch much anime myself but I always considered them to be just as much to be shows as American animation

#46 Phineas & Ferb

Phineas and Ferb is a great up and coming cartoon and Disney needs some new animated series to keep at least some reminiscence of classic Disney remaining on Disney Channel. I'm glad to hear that some more will be coming soon.

#45 Lucky Star

I've never seen Lucky Star so I can't judge. But it looks interesting to say the least.

#44 Ren & Stimpy
Ren_and_Stimpy-opening-3.jpg

I could never get into this show myself. I did try but "stupid humor" just isn't my taste in animation or real life. Nonetheless, I can easily respect it's important to all Nicktoons, 90's animation, and that brand of humor. I would actually have expected it to be a little bit higher on the list.

#43 Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2003)
clonewars_l.jpg

Both of the series are good, but I always preferred this one myself. I usually do prefer 2-D to 3-D animation. And this series was amazing. I'm actually surprised that it only lasted two seasons because it seemed like a really good element for Cartoon Network to add to their schedule. I suppose that they are making up with it now though with this new Clone Wars series.

Nice to see Phineas and Ferb on there even though I didn't put it in my own list.

Me knowing about anime being allowed wouldn't have changed much. Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon would all be a bit higher than wherever they appear on this list but that's about it, hopefully it doesn't effect #1.
