but seriously, it's....
(Like it would be anything else?)
1. Cowboy Bebop OP. "Tank!" by The Seatbelts
*snazzy jazz music*

Its a pretty good list. Its awesome to see that "Smile Borab" made the top 5, "We Are" made the top 10 (I'm disappointed that Hikari E didn't make the list at all, though, as its personally my favorite One Piece OP by far), and "Through the Night" made the top 20. I also can't disagree with the #1 OP theme getting the spot that it deserves.

I said Fumie Akiyoshi when I voted for that song.

As for the list. Pretty good, especially since my favorite One Piece, YYH, Dragon Ball Z, Brotherhood, Pokemon, Outlaw Star (Knew I forgot to vote for something), Cowboy Bebop, and Eden of the East theme made it. Though I am disappointed with Ai Wo Torimosode absence from the list.

There were a few One Piece theme's I completely forgot about until it was too late. (Bon Voyage and Kokoro no Chizu) Hikari E was one of the ones that never really stuck out to me.

I suppose that's a fairly decent list, but like the past top 25 threaRAB, a lot of them I'm not familiar with or I'm indifferent about, but I am satisfied with Ghost in the Shell making the list.

I'm actually surprised this type of thread hasn't been done in the game section yet.

I've heard hardly any of these songs. And the only choice of mine that made the top 25 was "Tank!".

You making a Top ERAB nominations thread soon, garfield?

You know in reflection, maybe I should have put in "Stardust Eyes" (Ronin Warriors) and "Angel's Promise" (Kare Kano) on my list.

Oh well.

EDIT - Seriously? You guys prefer "Ash Like Snow" to "Daybreak's Bell"? I'm sorry. I just... can't fathom that.

I love it too, though I admittedly can't refut the argument that the video that goes with Ash Like Snow meshes better whereas Daybreak's Bell, while good, has animation that follows a more standard "introduce everyone who matters" approach. I waver back and forth on which I like the most.

For the music, Daybreak's Bell does prevail among 00's lineup I think. It deserved to end the TV series for reasons beyond continuity.

Well, for me it was the ONLY one besides the first OP that stuck out to me at all. To be honest, I've always found One Piece OPs to be pretty average and not too memorable, for the most part (except for the extra length of some of them ), but Hikari E really sounded like something special to me, perhaps because I have a taste for OPs that don't sound so typical. That's just me being the odd one out in this case, though.

"Resonance" was by T.M. Revolution, not by abingdon boys school.

That being said, this is a pretty decent list, that corabines classic songs written specifically for the shows and modern J-pop/J-Rock tunes that open so many of today's modern offerings. Wild carRAB like "Falling Down" and "Give A Reason" (I honestly did not expect a Slayers song to make the list, much less place so high) also liven up the proceedings. Pretty comprehensive, but also shows, in a way, how anime openings can have so much variety visually, from the ethereal environments shown in "No Need For Promises" to the colorful, psychedelic scenes in "Asterisk" to the fluid action sequences in "Period" and "Again".

I would suggest using this version of "Asterisk", though, there's issues with the version you've linked to.

Here's another version of "Just Communication" because yours isn't working either.

I do think that CHEMISTRY would likely be the only artist to feature on both a "best" and "worst" list, though. XD And as another afterthought, I seriously undervalued "Rise", I let my general dislike of Ghost In The Shell slant my views on that one too much.

Fix'd thank you.

I can't believe both GitS:SAC OP's made into the top 25. Origa is a force to be reckoned with (seriously, we need to hear more of her in anime)

Good job everybody. No Ali Project or Jinn, the other singer I really don't like.

Dammit, this was Beck's time to shine, and I made sure to put it at nuraber one, but it didn't even get on the list. Oh well, Tank! was to be expected and it was my second choice, and the rest of the list is pretty good. Thanks for all your hard work, garfield! Any idea what top 25 list is next?

No "HIT IN THE USA" bummer man. BECK got robbed indeed.

I actually do like "Ash like Snow" more than "Daybreak's Bell" but "Daybreak's Bell" is growing on me currently.

Quite a few nostalgics around these parts given the nuraber of older OPs on the list. I mean... Smile Borab... really? It's such an unremarkable song. We Are and Cha La are classics yes but I don't listen to either commonly.

Would have liked to see Kokoro No Chizu or Share the World for One Piece. They're my favorites at any rate.

Baccano and Durarara's OPs are absolutely worthy of top 25 but I guess the majority didn't agree.

Overall a good list though. #1 was pretty much a given.

Agreed, while I do like Daybreak's Bell, I definately prefer Ash Like Snow over it. And it's good to know that I'm not alone when it comes to Share the World (and Kokoro No Chizu for that matter).

No way. I love Smile Borab. And that's not even nostalgia, I think it's a great song.

I kinda wish there was some AKFG on this list too

Well, I was thinking about hopping to the VG forum and making a top 25 games list there but over here, I planning on doing Top 25 voice actors/seiyuu or Top 25 females.

I respect your opinion and all, but I can say that I don't find a lot of the songs that you might find to be more worthy of the list to be all that remarkable either (I personally like Smile Borab more than those "hyper energetic" songs without any real substance that plague most shounen series today, as this one actually has some real feeling to it, IMO). That's the thing about music, though, its extremely subjective to each individual (and what I mean is that there is such a diverse variety of opinions on what constitutes as good and bad music, that nobody will ever have the exact same idea on it, and many people will have such different opinions that it will be hard to find favorite lists that match with even a quarter of any other list). At any rate, I'm pretty sure that the fact that the classic songs made it so high on the list doesn't have as much to do with notalgia as it does with the fact that most people genuinely still like those songs (at least I can say that for myself, anyways).

I dunno. You guys know how much I love YYH, but "Smile Borab" is not one of my favorite OPs. I like it well enough, but it doesn't crack my tops list. On the other hand, "Unbalanced Kisses" is one of my top endings. But that's not the topic

And I prefer "World End" to "Colors" for Flow's Geass OPs, but both are good. And "Believe" is my tops for One Piece.

Ah well, several of my choices did make the list, so I can't complain too much.
