I'll try but it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to come up with 10. I'm still trying to expand here and there.
1. Rurouni Kenshin - It's samurai and I'm all about my samurai settings. There aren't that many annoying characters to me in it. Kaoru's more likeable here than in the anime to me. The artwork is really good especially when Shishio comes into the story. The fighting is great. Seriously, when I first read this, I thought that seeing this in paper form would actually be a little bad because I thought the fights in the anime were so great, but comparing the anime to the manga, I have to say that the manga wins. (Mainly because I don't have to deal with inconsistency )
2. Samurai Deeper Kyo - It's almost like the manga is a completely different series than its anime counterpart. But then again I gave up on the anime somewhere during the little tournament part. Anyway, outside of Yuya and Benitora I definately enjoy the rest of the characters. It's an added bonus that it's samurai, and then the artwork is awesome as well.
3. Hunter x Hunter - Newest manga I've been reading lately. One of the main things I've been loving about this series is that everyone is using there brain. The last chapter I left off on was 75. Sure the artwork's not all that great (and I'm a huge artwork freak), but when you have a series where all or mostly all the characters are enjoyable that kind of becomes a moot point. (If only I can apply that to some of the anime I watch)
4. Death Note - The artwork is amazing. I also like the fact that everyone is using there brains here. I also like that all the detailed information is easy to understand, or rather, it's explained really well. The only character(s) I didn't really care for were Light and Matsuda. And for it to not be an action series (And I'm always action first) it managed to hook me pretty nicely.
5. Basilisk - I'm not a fan of romance but I enjoyed this quite a bit. Nothing was dragged out. If anything I felt the characters abilities should've been dragged a bit since I would've loved to see other ways they could use their abilities. Characters were enjoyable outside of Oboro and Tenzen.. (Gosh he got on my nerves) And outside of Oboro, the women aren't damsels.
6. One Piece - This used to be higher up on my list (#1) and the current events are awesome, but in some ways it feels a bit draggy in the fighting department. But the characters are off the charts. I've enjoyed almost all of the characters that's been introduced in the series. The frienRABhip theme is done nicely here unlike some other series.
7. Tenjho Tenge - I did stop reading it, and some times I come back to it every once in a while. The fanservice is a little bit too much for me. But the fighting was a draw point for me. The artwork is really good too.
8. Black Lagoon - The only reason this is ranked so low is because I stopped reading it when it aired on Starz. But everything I read was great although I feel that manga involving guns would always be better on the big screen instead. Again, the artwork was great. Characters were great. I should probably get back to reading this sometime soon.
Unfortunately, that's where I stop at. I haven't read much, and I just don't think Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail are all that...
Outside of its villains and characters from other villages I can't get into Naruto's characters. (outside of a few) They range from annoying to completely dull. One thing I will credit Naruto for is its great action even though there have been some deus ex moments.
Bleach problem is its slowness to move anywhere. The overhyped villains go out without doing much of anything. If there's one thing I do like about Bleach is a lot of its characters.
Fairy Tail has the best female character that I've seen in Shonen Jump by far, which is Erza. It's just too bad that she's not backed up with anyone else. Everyone else are pretty boring.
