Toonzone Talkback - RIP Jun Seba

Sad when anyone dies this young. I'm a bit surprised that Champloo was his only anime work. I would've thought he had done more.

Samurai Champloo had one of my favorite soundtracks despite the fact that I don't care for the genre, just like its predecessor, Cowboy Bebop. It's very sad to hear that the man behind it passed away, especially since he was so young.

Eh, I think just Afro Samurai and Tokyo Tribes.
Major props to Funk for making the thread, Shing02 the vocalist of Battlecry (The Nujabes' produced Champloo opening) posted a vid on YT.
FYI, Nujabes did a bit of work outside of Japanese working with another Champloo artist Fat Jon and his group Five Deez as well as personal fave of mine, underground Hip-Hop artist CYNE.

weird to see him go. I mean when I first heard jun seba's work, it was at a time where I thought music with substance didn't exist anymore and hip hop (or derivatives thereof) was dead in favor of polyphonic mess...
nujabes definitely made me believe in great beats and shing02 rapping style was perfect. I always tried to keep up with nujabes work and it was beyond me why his style wasn't any bigger in America or worldwide. But he will be immortal in his music. RIP jun

That is really sad.

I do not listen to Hip Hop music all of that much, but I could definitely appreciate Samurai Champloo's music. Its opening is one of my favorites.
