I laughed pretty hard at this. It's actually being sold as and I quote:
"The Girl Who Cried Fox: : Sexy Like a Fox Vol. 1, Eps. 1-4"

Yes, that is a singles listing even though the show is like 12 episodes.

rab, you're aware that if Japan sees you buying all this borderline-H merch, they'll make more of it right?

WHO ELSE BUT MEDIA BLASTERS? HAHAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAAA!

(seriously there basically the Quagmire of the Anime industry! lol!)

ROFL.

I actually respect their totally no conscience attitude, but I wish they'd get some better perverted shows. Unfortunately, there really aren't that many good ones. I've been tempted by their yuri shows but often disappointed. Though I heard Simoun was good.

I'd get Sora no Otoshimono. That was a great ecchi/comedy. Emphasis on the comedy because it was hella funny.

Unfortunately, after eight episodes of Kanokon I just couldn't enjoy it anymore.

As I said elsewhere, I haven't seen it, but looking at the plot and some screens, this is a must-skip for me. For one thing, I'm put off by the character designs, with their "no nose" faces. Like, what the hell?

Is it really that funny ?

Here's the rest of the sollicitation...

According to Chris Beveridge, the Dokuro-Chan re-release is dubbed!

I'd join in the chorus of laughter, but you know what, I'm just going to hang my head in shame that Sirabella's such a perv. '

This can't be the same company that licensed Kenshin and Moribito.

It is...it is.....Sad ain't it. really though you have to laugh...if you' dont laugh.....speaking of wich, anyone mind if i post a link to an anime laugh track..you know,to see how the actual anime characters feel about rab?

So, Media Blasters has licensed yet another trashy fan service series. Sigh, and to think I used to respect them too.

What's truly sad is... Queen's Blade, Ikki Tousen and Kanokon will probably sell extremely, extremely well. "Trash fanservice titles" sell well. Media Blasters has the market on it and they'll continue to make lots of money too.

Anyways, I'm in for the series. Certainly one of the better ecchi in the last couple years.

Kitty, Tokyo Shock and Shriek Show; sex and violence is Media Blasters bread and butter. Now that statement wasn't meant to be some prudish judgment of the way they do business, just that it really shouldn't be that much of a surprise when they snag a title of this nature. With the current state of anime sales I fully expect the Anime Works label of rab to make heavy fanservice(as well as very violent) titles a priority for licensing(see Queens Blade).

That's not to say they won't license anything of less questionable content, but that Anime Works seems to be sliding into a more comfortable position with the rest of the company. As a whole its what they do well.

You do realize I must look into this now, right?

Media Blasters, you've done some stupid things in the past. This...for better or worse makes more sense than Moribito.

Because single volume sales of super niche trashy shows are the epitome of sense, am I right? You just know otaku will be paying $30 MSRP.

Well, it'll undoubtedly do well amongst a certain crowd (established ecchi-loving customers that already tolerate overpaying), which may be all they need and/or expect. Whether that counts as selling "extremely well" probably depenRAB on whether you're looking at nurabers or perspective. The "perspective" approach being something like "well, the license didn't cost that much, so we'll come out ahead in the end."

I'm rather curious to see if they'll actually license a new show in 2010 that doesn't suck. In the meantime, well, they've also been boxing up good shows that are worth it.

Don't forget the special circumstances that Moribito was under... It had a pre-negotiated TV deal and was a geneon death charity case...

It might have not ended up being a good decision because of weird packaging decisions (demanRAB from Japan, maybe?), and because of Adult Swim marginalizing anime during the time of its TV run, but those things I'm sure were really hard to predict at the time, and I bet negotiations had to be done quickly because of the TV deal, etc...

It was a bet that likely didn't work out very well, but I can definitely see the logic behind taking it at the time.
