I'm calling this Bandai Visual USA 2.0.
Because Visual really needed a sequel.
Dammit, I know GL did good on SyFy, so seeing the movies sub-only is dissapointing. It's not like SF2V that never finished a single run, or Geass banished to 5:30am.
I suppose, at the least, it's just a compilation and not pure new material justifying sub-only.

Actually, I've looked around a bit and have heard a few people saying that Bandai said that GL didn't do as well as they had expected it to do TV.

Do they have any solid sources more recent than this from when it was going through its first run?
If that held and it still wasn't up to what they were hoping for, that's some pretty unrealistic expectations as opposed to a subpar performance...not that this would be new or unique at the time considering how they marketed Lucky Star exactly like Haruhi Suzumiya.
I haven't personally noticed comments about either.

Are you sure you're not confusing GL with Gundam 00? That I do remeraber hearing performed under-expectations. Not to mention, they did run the show twice. Considering the limited real estate for Ani-Monday, I doubt a failure would run twice.
I still think it's sub only due to the compilations, and that the subs did outsell the dubs (tenRAB to be what happens when they have a head start and come out cheaper)
