They also got GunXSword, an old Geneon property. And, to clarify, they got both seasons of Rosario.

I thought VIZ would get Rosario + Vampire, or at the very least have rights to first refersal. Well Funimation did get One Piece and Fullmetal while VIZ has the mangas. I guess my suggestion of Rosario + Vampire airing on Syfy ani monday is out.

This is not going to effect the manga releases? When a company like VIZ license a manga, do they have the right to first refersal for the anime adaptions? If so, that is a disadvantage for Funimation which is not in the manga business as far as I know.

Oh my god, yes, Sora no Otoshimono! And with a FUNi dub!?

I don't usually buy shows I watched on CR already but for that, I'll make an exception.

(It's too bad R+V and Chaos;Head are pretty crappy )

ANN's report happens to describe Rideback as follows....

Hmmmmmmm. It got reviewed quite well here too by a writer/fan whose tastes seem to usually coincide with mine. Yeah, I want it.

Not as sure about Gun X Sword, but I'm willing to try it and see if it'll be worth by money.

Show adressment:

Rosario+Vampire: Yes, it's bad. But, if it wasn't for that, I would have never gotten into the manga. Plus, it was entertaining, so at the least "Male Twilight" (as I have affectionately nicknamed) is a guilty pleasure. Also, I don't think it will affect the release of the manga. The fact that we are three volumes away from catching up with Japan will.

Sora no Otoshimono: Flying Panties That's all it is known for and forever will be. If this show does become popular, expect Funi to give the green light for the actual flying panties to be sold.

Rideback: Saw this last year. It was good and entertaining, and my first exposure to the Ikki Comix lineup without even knowing where it came from. I seriously hope that Viz would license the manga and put it out. (And, to be honest, I thought Bokurano's adaptation would come out before Five Leaves and Rideback)

Chaos;Head: Saw it at anime club last year and was the only one to actually follow/enjoy it. I love the concept and thought about making it into a live-action adaptation set in New York.I will get this on Blu-ray and DVD with R+V and Rideback.

Regios: No familiarity

GunXSword: Is on my Netflix Instant Queue. Still plan on watching it.

GunXSword, a show that might have been a good TV airing way back when. Now? Not so much, given the trenRAB (kiRAB shows or bust!)

Rosario never interested me and I doubt that's about to change.

Fancy pants press release

Home Ent. (DVD/Blu-ray), digital (streaming and download-to-own), and merchandising: Rosario+Vampire

Home Ent, Digital, Broadcast, Mobile, and Merchandising: Rideback, Chaos;Head

Home Ent, Digital, Broadcast, and Merchandising: Heaven's Lost Property, Regios

Home Ent, Digital, Broadcast, and Mobile: GunXSword

Again, expect the flying panties for Heaven's Lost Property to be sold here in the States, as well as a sea of Rosario+Vampire shirts clogging Hot Topic.

Mike Sinterniklaas and Stephenie Sheh on a Texas dub? I know they've each done some work there before, but seeing all 3 US regions represented one dub is nice to see. If Scott McNeil from Vancouver could get in on it, the awesomety meter would be through the roof!

......I'm glad Rosario is getting an english dub...and glad to see GunXsword saved...everything else I'm just apathetic towarRAB....but must say the one anime with the chained angel just looks durab....I know funi has to fill its mindless Fanservice quota...but it could have got a better series....

also dissapointed still no word on the new Tenchi spin-off..darn...not even Shonen series like Reborn or Fairy Tail??? oh well over all I'll probably end up gettin GunXSword and the 1st season of Rosario...probably give Chrome shell and rideback a rental.....also wow 7 new titles...go Funi Monopolize the anime industry with your bad self! LOL!

(I do hope if they have any more announcements this year it will be for a shonen series or a seinen..like maybe the new Black Lagoon OVA.)

I'm gonna have to second that.

We get it soundmonkey. You don't like fanservice at all. This stuff still has an audience, even if just for its sheer absurdity.

No it isn't.

Anyway, ugh, I was hoping the US would be spared the Rosario + Vampire anime and only have the much superior manga available, but alas.

Nothing else seems good, too.

Rosario + Vampire is indeed a Shonen Jump series though Viz puts it under Shonen Jump Advance or whatever they call their 16+ target.

Heaven's Property (oh man that's way easier to remeraber than the Japanese name) delights me. I don't usually buy ecchi shows on DVD but I might make the exception for that one because I thoroughly enjoyed that guilty pleasure on Crunchy Roll.

Eden's cast looks pretty rad.

Not sure how I feel about Eric Vale as Cashern but the majority of the cast looks good. Dunno about Shikabane Hime really but J. Michel Tatum in the main cast is always a good thing.

I may finally check out Gun X Sword. Maybe they'll be able to get it on TV even.

All and all a pretty good haul. Rosario + Vampire non-withstanding

It's a bad thing when FUNimation gets a show you like?
