Toonzone Talkback - "Family Guy" Vol. 8 Coming in June

Target reduced its initial stock of Volume 7 to $12.88 within two months. You can count on it.

I don't care for the karaoke so much as what it means: every Family Guy song ever made in one place, many of which are very catchy.

I'm sure the Internet is waiting to see if Denny Smith apologizes for anything in the commentary for the infamous episode my avatar comes from, but they won't get what they want. He'll just be irritatingly arrogant about it -- that's what the kind of guy who writes trash like that just is. I won't be listening to that one.

You want an apology? I'd say don't hold your breath. And I doubt most people who'd buy this set are doing so in the hopes that they get apologized to for episodes they didn't like. I'm not a huge fan of this episode either but I think it's a little much to call the director of an episode "irritatingly arrogant" if he defends his own work just because you don't like it. You're sitting here predicting what the commentary is going to be about and then announcing that you won't watch it? I don't get that. You should at least listen to the commentary before the damn the person participating in it.

And if they didn't apologize for wasting the audience's time with the super long Conway Twitty cutaway in "The Juice is Loose " I doubt they'd apologize for anything here.

Honestly, I think some people just let Brian get under their skins a bit too easily.

My memory is failing me.
What episode was it and why should he apologize?

I found that oddly amusing because it seemed like it would never end.
Reading the reactions to it had me dying also.

...Good times...

This.

I believe the episode is "Not all dogs go to heaven".

And it offended Christians AND Atheists for the way they were shown on that episode.

Anyways...I'm glad the DVD finally has a definite release date now because I really want to pick it up.

I wish it was just season 8 stuff though because that's where the show really picked up but that won't happen with Fox's new tradition of releasing box sets with half a season and the other half of another.

Still gonna be some good stuff in here (karaoke with most the Family Guy songs ftw!)

Oh, now I remember. With the book burning and what not.

Doesn't seem like anything worth dwelling on or demanding an apology for.

Thanks to that new writing staff.

This set is going to be interesting. The show hits arguably rock bottom, then produces some of the best FG episodes ever. I think I'd might want to do a review of it.

I'm actually willing to agree with you there, though I think the "rock bottom" portion of season 7 was part of the last DVD set. Granted, the rest of season 7 (aside from "420" and "FOX-y Lady, and the first and third acts of "Three Kings") wasn't so hot either. They're definitely on an upswing now, though.

I don't like the fact that they based the box-art off of my least favorite episode, possibly of Family Guy's entire series. I was actually expecting something based off "Road To The Multiverse", but I guess with how popular that episode was it would've seemed cliche.

I will be buying this to see "Road To The Multiverse" completely uncut and uncensored. That will be fun!
