After a total of 23 votes, we have this year's results. Results were pretty close in most categories, making a lot of wins by only one vote, but in the end the big winners were The Spectacular Spider-Man on the TV side, and Up on the movie side. Thanks to all of you who voted and made this possible. Hope we can have another one next year.

Wow, Spectacular Spider-Man and Up completely dominated the awards this year.

I'm surprised Spidey took the Best TV Series category since Flapjack beat it out in the same category in the Cafe Awards.

Can't help but think that some people voted Spectacular Spider-Man in a lot of categories for the show itself and not the specific category. My reasoning being that it only lost in one nominated category. Still, good to see Princess and the Frog do pretty well, especially against Up.

As big of a fan as I am(like I said earlier, it was one of the few animated series I still kept up with), I can see where you're coming from. I think it deserved the series, writing, voice acting, and director awards, but from what I've seen of the Cartoon Network shows nominated on here, their animation and designs tended to be more fresh and creative than Spectacular's, which was pretty by the book when you get down to it.

That said, SSM had an outstanding second season, and Up was an excellent movie. I personally think that Coraline, Princess and the Frog, and Sita were better movies, but it earned a few of the awards it got. I also really like seeing the Ed, Edd, n' Eddy movie win it's award, almost like a final hurrah. I always liked it as a kid and the movie did not disappoint the kid in me. Great stuff all in all.

I would've liked Ponyo to snag an award. I mean, Hayao Miyazaki should've won the director's award.

I can't complain to much, cause I have yet to see Up.

Pretty good results. While my votes were Flapjack and UP bias, I am still happy that Spider-Man did win. But I really wanted Turtles Forever to win the TV Movie/Special Award, since I thought it was a good HOORAH for the 4kids TMNT and the 80's Turtles. But BPS was a nice finally for EEnE.

Can't say I'm a fan when foreign stuff gets lumped into one minor category in these kinds of things rather than getting a shot in all the categories. More of a general complaint of these types of things rather than directed at this list specifically, though.

I'm going to say that if the people who voted in the Nomination thread but didn't PM their choices, would have send their votes in, we would have gotten at least three categories with different results.

I'm not a fan of it myself, but the main reason I include the Foreign category is because otherwise, people always tend to ignore these shows for the most part. Dunno why, but it definitely seems to happen. I even recall a couple of people saying that foreign series and movies shouldn't be awarded in American award shows.

For the record, foreign shows aren't restricted to that category. Every show was eligible for every category provided they fit the initial conditions.

I honestly prefer not to say anything specific because then people would start saying "Oh, so THIS show didn't deserve THIS award" and such.

I really didn't notice this until after posting this thread, because I did say I was only going to go through my inbox and not this thread when tallying the votes. I even posted a reminder, so there's really no excuse.

Probably, but it wasn't me! I meant everything I said, and if I had believed something else deserved a category moreso than TSSM, or if I didn't know what I was talking up, I voted differently or not at all! For example, I did not vote for Jennifer Coyle because, uh, I have no idea what an animation director does.... Direct voice acting? Is that it?

From the bonus features on the Season One DVD set, the episode director is primarily responsible for overseeing the storyboard artists as part of the main production phase. (Not to mention pre and post production work as well.)

Maybe it didn't deserve "Best Character Designs" or "Best Voice Actress"...

...but after getting the raw end of the deal in the Toon Zone Top 50 list, it deserves whatever praise it got.

Okay, out of all the categories Spider Man won, it did NOT deserve character designs. I really think the staff could've done a better job with their face shapes and eyes, the eyes!
